Vehicle Detail

For your consideration today is this nice convert; I bought this car to fix up, drive for a while and then resell. There are repairs done to the front end, as it was struck in the front. I replaced the plastic nose and bumper (this was a light hit, as the airbags didn't fire) and painted the hood and right fender. I finished the repair last month, and soon after the cam sensor went out. To make a long story short, I have more in this car than I can possibly expect back, (400.00 mechanical repairs on the engine) and it is selling at NO reserve. It drives out well, the power top works well, and the power seat and windows work well. The radio is finicky, and works----sometimes. The A/C blows cool, but it is 105 degrees here in Arkansas today, so it never blew cold. It felt very nice on less hot days, though. There is a single tear on the top (see photo) just above the drivers side; otherwise the top is in excellent shape. It has the glass rear window, with defroster, and the top is one of the quietest I have ever experienced, and I have owned several converts. The interior has some stains and marks on the vinyl, but the seats are free from rips; There are some scratches on the trunk lid, and frankly, the color-match on the right front fender isn't the best. The tires could stand replacement, but are still good for 10k miles or so. Overall, the mechanicals are very good for a car this age, with power steering, brakes, transmission, and cooling system all in fine condition. The engine is quiet and powerful, and doesn't smoke. As far as I know at this time there are no mechanical issues, except for the aforementioned radio. As always if after inspection, the buyer feels that the item is not as represented, then I will refund the deposit, minus the relisting fee. I have been with eBay since 1999, and have good feedback, and plan to keep it that way. Buyers with feedback less than 5 should contact me before biddiing. If you have questions please contact me via "Ask buyer a question." Thanks for looking and good luck. On Aug-03-11 at 11:36:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I drove the car yesterday and today, and have a few comments. I want the new owner to have no surprises; and buyers need to know all they can before buying, I drove about 40 miles yesterday and about 75 miles today, and I have to say the car drives very well. It doesn't pull to the right or left, and shifts and drives as it should. The little V6 engine is peppy, and will probably get mileage in the mid-20mpg range. I will mention some things; the windshield washers do not work, the hoses are not hooked up, and the windshield has a crack high up near the top (see photo). When we had our mechanic work on the car he ran a diagnostic (high-dollar Sun brand machine---nothing hand-held) and said that everything was within operating standards, although the "check engine" light comes on (probably an oxygen sensor, but he said the code was undetermined---still it runs well) It rides well, and the wife likes the way it drives, but for myself I would have new rear shocks installed---too soft of a ride. the engine idles very slowly when the a/c is on; enough that the engine comes close to dying, or so it seems. And, finally, one of the tires are out of balance, so that between 45 and 50 there is a noticeable roughness---which is butter smooth between 55-70. Brakes, steering, CV joints, all seem to work well, and as I have said, the car seems reliable. The rip in the top is simply a small wear spot on the welt of the top at the edge---certainly not something to cause a leak; and the car seems to be a rust-free car. Again, I had rather ruin a sale or two than have an unhappy buyer. On Aug-08-11 at 19:37:26 PDT, seller added the following information: OK, so I've spent way too much time describing this car, but I'm not gonna' sell it for 1000 less than what I have in it! Purchase of car 950, front end parts and paint 450, and cost of repairs 400-----and that doesn't count any of my time and labor. I was hoping to get at least 2 grand, but if the final bid is only 910, then I will park it in my yard and use it as a lawn ornament! ( I will sell it locally) Seriously, call me to arrange for a drive; you won't be disappointed. 501-230-3750 or 5778.
