Front fenders were also restyled, as was the front bumper. The rear window was made larger for better visibility, and a redesigned dashboard had an ashtray and glove-box. Cargo beds now used a hardwood floor rather than steel and featured a "grain-tight" tailgate, meaning that it fit so snugly a load of grain wouldn't leak on the way home. Particular attention was given to the one place where the driver spends the most time, the cab. Featured were a "Million Dollar Cab" (it cost $1 million to design and tool). Ford advertised “living room comfort” for a new cab that was taller and more spacious than any Ford had previously released. The wide cab, furnished with a comfortably upholstered coil spring bench seat, and a column 3-Speed rather then on the foor made sufficient room for a driver and two passengers. The focus on driver comfort was even extended to the way the cab was mounted upon the frame. The clearly visible gauges were complemented by the expansive view from behind the wheel, as the driver looked over the hood through a wide single-paned windshield. This 1951 Ford F1 Pickup Truck is finished in beautiful PPG Laser Red Tinted Metallic, Black running boards, Gray Leather Seat, and Gray carpet. This rare southern classic has had no rust or rust repair ever before undergoing a frame-off professional, photo documented, nut and bolt, Rotisserie Restoration including Exterior, Interior, Wood Bed, Chrome, Mechanics and all new wiring of the entire truck to factory specifications. This numbers matching 239 V-8 Flathead along with the 3 Speed Manual Transmission and Drivetrain were rebuilt during restoration. Absolutely everything was rebuilt or new on this no expense spared four year restoration. Added were the dual carburetors, exhaust, and converted to 12 volt for better driveability. The original breather, intake, and exhaust manifolds will be included with the truck. Options include, Dual Wipers, Dual Sun Visors, Dual Side Mirrors, Cigar Lighter, Wide White Wall Tires, and the very rare Heater Box. All aspects of this highly optioned truck were attended to during restoration including the interior and wood bed which are not only totally correct, but likely much better than the factory ever put out. The chrome and bright work are equally impressive. All mechanics, suspension and braking components have been meticulously gone through with all systems performing robustly and all gauges working as they should. The engine is ready to score big at any Ford meet, and the underside is spectacular. The 1951 Ford F1 Pickup Truck had big styling changes that included an all-new grille design, with a large horizontal bar spread across the front of the truck supported by three massive bullet-shaped teeth. Front fenders were also restyled, as was the front bumper. The rear window was made larger for better visibility, and a redesigned dashboard had an ashtray and glove-box. Cargo beds now used a hardwood floor rather than steel and featured a "grain-tight" tailgate, meaning that it fit so snugly a load of grain wouldn't leak on the way home.
Particular attention was given to the one place where the driver spends the most time, the cab. Featured were a "Million Dollar Cab" (it cost $1 million to design and tool). Ford advertised “living room comfort” for a new cab that was taller and more spacious than any Ford had previously released. The wide cab, furnished with a comfortably upholstered coil spring bench seat, and a column 3-Speed rather then on the foor made sufficient room for a driver and two passengers. The focus on driver comfort was even extended to the way the cab was mounted upon the frame. The clearly visible gauges were complemented by the expansive view from behind the wheel, as the driver looked over the hood through a wide single-paned windshield.
This 1951 Ford F1 Pickup Truck is finished in beautiful PPG Laser Red Tinted Metallic, Black running boards, Gray Leather Seat, and Gray carpet. This rare southern classic has had no rust or rust repair ever before undergoing a frame-off professional, photo documented, nut and bolt, Rotisserie Restoration including Exterior, Interior, Wood Bed, Chrome, Mechanics and all new wiring of the entire truck to factory specifications. This numbers matching 239 V-8 Flathead along with the 3 Speed Manual Transmission and Drivetrain were rebuilt during restoration. Absolutely everything was rebuilt or new on this no expense spared four year restoration. Added were the dual carburetors, exhaust, and converted to 12 volt for better driveability. The original breather, intake, and exhaust manifolds will be included with the truck. Options include, Dual Wipers, Dual Sun Visors, Dual Side Mirrors, Cigar Lighter, Wide White Wall Tires, and the very rare Heater Box.
All aspects of this highly optioned truck were attended to during restoration including the interior and wood bed which are not only totally correct, but likely much better than the factory ever put out. The chrome and bright work are equally impressive. All mechanics, suspension and braking components have been meticulously gone through with all systems performing robustly and all gauges working as they should. The engine is ready to score big at any Ford meet, and the underside is spectacular.
