Vehicle Detail

Hello, If your viewing this ad, you already know a 1958 Buick Limited is a rare car. I hate to sell this car, and honestly I never intended to, but things change and I have to let this beauty go. If your an all original purist, then this is not the limited for you, the interior has been redone as well as trunk area. So no need for you to point out that it's not the factory original material, I get it. If it bugs someone that much, they can bring it back. Quick history on the car : The car was built in Arlington Texas, and stayed in Texas it's whole life. I bought the car from a super nice guy in Whitney Texas, and his Aunt had bought the car new. It's a one family owner. I love original titles, so the car still has it's original title. Texas makes you turn them in to get a new one, so I never wanted to do an official transfer as I'm an original nut. More History : It was originally Blue Mist, but a few months after the car was sold, the front end paint started to fade badly. I guess this was a common problem on these cars as the front was painted seperate from the back using different primer. Anyway, the owner decided she wanted the car black instead so the dealer painted the entire car. Later in life the next family member that got it, redid the interior in black also. It's original style, but not original materials. I also have a brand new steering wheel in black as well. The old one was cracked and faded. The good : Car had motor rebuilt, as well as the original Flight Pitch rebuilt. Motor looks/runs good, tranny shifts good. No leaks I've seen. New exhaust/glasspack mufflers. Most work was done 4-5 years ago, I have all receipts. Link to motor running video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i70x_1a9lX4 Bad news : When they put the motor back in, they didn't realize the flywheel needs to be aligned correctly ( small alignment holes ), so the car has a shimmy you can feel in the steering wheel when driving. The only way to correct this is to pull the motor, or pull the rearend and tranny. One or the other. Then put the flywheel in the right position. So a little labor. AC has not worked for a few years. Compressor is not stuck, but the whole system needs resealed and recharged. Body : Body is nice, paint is in decent shape. Few chips/scratches as it's not brand new paint. Some stainless has dings and chrome has fading/pitting. Also some windows have bubbling around the edges. Only minor rust in car is back inner trunk lip. That's it. Underside is your usual rust free Texas car. Never had any filler or repair. Electrical : Radio does not work, nor does the wipers. The old owner was planning on converting the wipers to electric but never got around to it. Power seat works on and off. One rear window moves slow but works. Misc : Tires are a few years old, but new looking. Brake booster was rebuilt a few years ago. I'm also selling the car locally online, so if it does sell locally I will be taking this auction down. If interested please let me know.
