Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1979 T-top Dodge Magnum XE. These cars were only built for 2 years, 1978 and 1979, and are almost impossible to find in good rust-free condition. This is a 2 fender tag car and is the highest optioned Magnum I have ever seen. There is absolutely zero rust on this car. The paint is original and has a lot of scrapes and scratches. There is no body damage, only typical light parking lot dings. The vinyl top is excellent with no signs of wear or rot. All the glass is good including the T-tops, with the exception of the windshield, which does need to be replaced. The grill is excellent and undamaged, but does need to be painted as it came off a white car. The headlight doors are nice and clear and they operate properly. The tail lights are in great condition with only minor weathering. All the chrome trim and bumpers are clean and rust and damage free. The BFG tires are in excellent condition with 90% tread left. This Magnum features a rebuilt very rare police L code E58 H.P. 360 4 barrel non lean burn engine with dual exhaust and the non-lockup A727 transmission. It also has the HD towing package which includes a remote transmission cooler, power steering pump cooler, 9 ¼” 3:23 sure grip rear end, heavy duty suspension, and quick ratio power steering. Other options on this Magnum include: power windows, power door locks, rear window defroster, 3-speed intermittent windshield wipers, tilt steering, premium AM/FM cassette with factory amp and dual rear speakers, dual chrome sport remote mirrors, passenger vanity mirror, floor shift with center console, dual reclining bucket seats, trunk dress-up package, pedal dress-up, power trunk release, fender mounted turn signals, cruise control, working tach dash with a 140 MPH certified cop speedometer (not original to this car), Magnum GT fender flares (not original to this car) It even still has the sticker on the door jamb from American Sunroof Corp., which is the company that installed the T-tops for Dodge. This is a really cool Magnum, but does need a little work. The paint is scratched and weathered. The windshield is damaged; the console lid and seats are worn. The dash pad has 1 very small crack. The driver seat will not stay in the upright position. The steering wheel has a little slop at the column mount. The A/C components under the hood have all been removed, the engine runs great, but will not hold idle. It seems to be a carburetor problem. Pics tell the rest of the story. The Magnum GT wheels pictured on the car are not included. I have a set of 15 X 8 steel wheels that will be put on the car with the BFG tires shown. Also included with this Magnum will be a trunk full of parts. Extra lights, trim, carb rebuild kits, ignition parts, shocks, power window motors, seat belts, headlight doors, tail light lenses, etc. I will be listing this Magnum locally for sale and reserve the right to end the auction at any time if I receive a reasonable cash offer. I am not going to reveal the reserve, but if you really want this car, make me an offer. I have a clear clean Utah title. The car is currently located in my shop in Midvale, Utah. I require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the close of the auction. The car will only be released when I have verified funds in my hand. I will only take PayPal for the remainder of the purchase price if you are willing to cover the fees. I will assist with loading the car and parts and getting it ready for transport, but the complete cost of transportation is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. You must have this car moved out of my shop no later than August 15th. Please bid only if you are prepared to complete the deal. Please contact me if you have any questions. On Jul-24-11 at 21:19:20 PDT, seller added the following information: This rare Magnum is one of 3,704 built in 79 with T-tops, and 1 of 583 with the L code E-58 H.P. engine. On Jul-29-11 at 04:29:04 PDT, seller added the following information: This car also has aftermarket headers and is a factory dual exhaust car. I have also been told that the rear is an 8.25", not a 9.25". The engine has a Wiand aluminum intake manifold and Mopar Performance cast aluminum valve covers.
