BEAUTIFUL 1980 HONDA CBX 6 CYLINDER This auction is for a very,very nice 1980 CBX, that has been gone through after sitting for approximately 10 years. I have had it for the past 2 years, and have been slowly going through it, and now she is ready for the road. It is in mostly original condition, and the miles are accurate. THE GOOD: -New paint on tank, front fender, rear cowl, and side covers. All new decals and HONDA emblems. Tank was also acid cleaned and sealed. -Carbs were COMPLETELY disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt with all NEW rubber bits, gaskets, needle valves, and synched. -New external oil lines fitted. -New battery, as of last summer. -New Bridgestone BT-45 tires, with maybe 200 miles as of this spring. -New front master cylinder reservior, rebuilt M/Cylinders front and rear, with new EBC pads. All 3 brake calipers rebuilt with new seals. -New fork seals and dust covers, and heavier Progressive springs. -New valve cover gasket, and valves adjusted, oil and air filters, fresh oil. -DG 6 into 1 exhaust sounds GREAT !!!! -THIS BIKE STARTS, RUNS AND STOPS LIKE NEW...has typical/normal CBX clutch basket noise at low idle, but rev's and decellerates without a pop or backfire, and shifts like budda' THE BAD: -Sorry, but the original exhaust is not here, and I'm pretty sure the mirrors are not stock. -Small cut to the left side of the seat cover, which is otherwise new...you can see it in the pic's, but it is just about unnoticable otherwise, also a small ding to underside of gas tank, along the seam....very hard to see unless you look under the tank. -Replaced the original voltmeter, and you can see that the other guages have faded a bit over time. This is true for the turnsignal hubs, and switchgear as well. They do clean up with some Protect All, but it only lasts a day or so. -I repainted the bars, but the right side didn't come out as well as the left....up to you if you want to redo that. The photo's of the paint do not truely show how nice it is, it really sparkles in the sunshine !!! OVERALL: My intent was to get this bike back on the road, and looking good. It is a clean looking RIDER.... There are some small surface rust spots that I intentionally did not touch up, so you can see that the original frame paint/patina shows this bike has been well kept, and is of low original miles. This CBX is all set to roll, and comes with a clear title. I can transport to a local shipper within 30 miles for free, but all other fees are the responsibilty of the auction winner.
