Vehicle Detail
This is a 2009 BMW R1200RT motorcycle. Features as follows: 1) low suspension and low seat model (I'm 5'6" and it's low enough for me); 2) it has heated hand grips and cruise control; 3) I added HID headlamps for better night riding; I just had the front brakes replaced. The front brake lines were fixed on recall. New tires at around 15,000 miles, and rubber is still good to go. It has around 20,700 miles on it, all highway/freeway miles (little city driving). I get around 51 miles per gallon (54 mile commute) in the Summer and around 48 miles per gallon in the Winter. Bike comes with an almost new cover. WARRANTY: Still under warranty until February 7, 2012. CONDITION AND MINOR FLAWS WITH THE MOTORCYCLE: I have always kept the bike covered, both in the garage and at work. I wipe it down twice a day - once after arriving at work (using Meguiar's Mist and Wipe) and after getting home from work. I also clean the wheels once a week and keep them waxed. Other than the minor flaws noted below, the bike is in excellent shape. Minor flaws are as follows: 1. There is a scratch on the top left saddle bag. The inner retaining strap came unhooked when I opened the bag, didn't notice it, and the cover dropped and rubbed on the ground (see picture); 2. The left saddle bag and also the left bottom of the cylinder cover has some scratches when I had to lower the bike on its side. The kickstand was not all the way down, and the bike starting falling over after I was off and standing next to it. It didn't crash to the ground, but I couldn't keep it standing. Neither scratches are evident unless you bend over and down to look at them. That's why I've never bothered about them. 3. When the bike was around 5 days old, my daughter bumped into it with the car in the garage. I had to replace the right-side valve cover, left side mirror, and decided to replace the plastic around the gauges and mirrors (it was scratched but not cracked). After fixing, the bike still looked brand new, and there's been no problems with it since then. PAYMENT TERMS: 1) $500 via Paypal 48 hours after auction closes. This is a non-refundable deposit 2) Balance due in cash at pickup (I will not deliver the motorcycle). I will accept a wire transfer from your bank to mine (Wells Fargo), and I will pay the wire fee. I will not release the motorcycle until my bank confirms receipt of the wire transfer. I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY CHECKS, whether personal, certified, or cashiers.
