This auction listing is for a 1965 Ford Thunderbird coupe. This is a running driving survivor from days gone by when style was king in Detroit. This car is in solid condition, with a ton of potential for restoration, or to be used as a cool unrestored driver... The motor is a Ford 390 V-8, and the transmission is a column shifted automatic. The motor starts right up and sounds/runs good. The transmission shifts. The steering is tight and the brakes work. The battery and radiator are both recent. The odometer reads 48,052. I cannot confirm it. The body on this car is very solid and has hardly any rust on it at all. The floors and trunk are original and nice. The doors are solid and rust free. The quarter panels were repaired at some point and it appears to be a decent repair job. Shame they didn't paint the whole car at that point. All the glass is good, and the windows do work, but very slowly. This car was loaded, especially for it's time. It came with power windows and door locks, disc brakes, air conditioning, and the fancy sliding steering column, (which does still work properly). The car's interior is complete and original. It is in decent shape for it's age, including the headliner and dash, and really only needs minor attention. The passenger seat has some kind of deluxe optional headrest on it that is original.The car does also come with fender skirts. Although they aren't shown on the car in the pictures, they are also in good condition. This Thunderbird came with the unique sequential rear turn signals, and they also still work correctly.
