Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is this 47 Ford coupe with a 55 nash ambassador grill in it. From the information I have gathered it was raced in the early to mid 60's in Gas Class. The wheel wells are radiused for the slicks and a push bar is still on it. It was put on the street in the mid 70's. Then sometime in the early 80's it had a small dash fire (there is no fire damage to the car, it was a small under dash wire fire). It has been sitting ever since. There is currently no engine in it. It had a 289 in it but I pulled it out, and scrapped it. As far as the condition of the body goes, the floor and body is pretty solid, there is a few spots rusted through in the trunk floor. The car will also need new inner rockers, there is a small dime size hole above the trunk lid at the corner where the body meets the quarter panel. The access panel in the front floor has holes cut in it for various different shifters over the years, and the metal is getting thin around the edges. The car still has its orignal frame and front suspension (with its orignal front brakes) It has the original steering too. The frame has 2 holes cut in the cross member for exhaust to run through, other than that its a really nice frame. The rear end is a 9 inch mounted on the original leaf spring (the rear end will need to be re-mounted, I dont think it is very safe the way they put it in the car along time ago). It has all the window garnish moldings (except front windshield) and all the glass is good except for the front windshield is starting to de-laminate. The car will need a dash board, it is cut up for whatever whoever was trying to accomplish. It still has all the head liner bows still in it There are some old bucket seats mounted on some pretty nice seat brackets and shag carpet. The doors are very solid and old custom door panels are still on it, as far as I know the doors still have all the "guts'' still in them. DISCLAIMER: I will say that this car is a very large project, it will need everything mechanical. This would not be a "quick" build, it is going to take alot of work. Do not think you can just slap an engine in this one and have it going in a weekend. It will take alot more than that. This car will take several months of work AT LEAST to get it running and driving. You might even find more rust in places that I didnt even think to look. BUT with that said, it is a very buildable car, and there is a lot to work with. The "patina" looks great, I wouldn't even touch the external body and just build a gasser or "rat" rod out of it. It has a clear title in my name.....----Its a very buildable 47 Ford COUPE with a clear title for a cheap price----... ......by the way, that is not a dent in the rear fender, they had some funky bus tail lights mounted on the fenders, those are just the place they used to be mounted.......On Jul-21-11 at 11:28:56 PDT, seller added the following information: (The reserve is $900)
