Vehicle Detail
Absolutely the nicest Airhead you will find. This is NOT a restoration, but a well maintained RS that I had professionally painted 6 years ago. (A little bit of flame to make it unique) This bike has never seen outdoors except for road trips. ALWAYS garage kept in California, Arizona, and Nevada. I just moved to Chicago two months ago, bike is registered in Nevada - clear title from California. The bike runs, shifts, brakes and everything else as it should. I have painstakingly maintained this airhead and kept it as original as possible. Original tool kit is complete, locking security cable under the tank, and tire pump. All parts are OEM with some period correct accessories. (Custom Corbin leather seat) It has just undergone a recent major tune-up (rebuild carbs, valves adjusted, new fluids, new switch cluster, check and re-check everything else to the tune of over $600) If you are not familiar with it, do some research on the RS and understand the strength and agility of this particular sport tourer. This bike comes with a lot of extra stuff. I have the set-up with taller bars, bar-backs, and longer switch cluster for touring. There are many maintenance parts included: two new clutch cables, oil and air filters, gaskets, O-rings, crush washers, seals, etc. A spring compressor and exhaust nut wrench are included. Also has touring luggage to supplement the BMW cases. Magnetic tank bag, faring pockets, and a Joe's U-pac. Have traveled for two weeks at a time and had plenty of room for camping equipment and varied weather riding gear. Not particularly happy about selling this bike, but priorities are changing as my parents age. This bike has always been in the family - many other bikes have come and gone over the years. Just this and a '92 Yamaha XT600 left. Amazing shape for an airhead of this age - you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner or more original RS. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail. Locals can make an appointment to see in person. If you are truly serious and want talk, e-mail a phone and time to call. Please, no tire-kickers or "I used to have one just like it" need apply! Check the photos; some were taken outdoors and some in the garage. The indoor pictures with the flash show good color. Paint is base coat / clear coat and like glass. Thanks for looking! On Jul-18-11 at 11:28:01 PDT, seller added the following information: As way of explanation, the reserve is now not met due to the unscrupulous bidder "nail24". Two days after his bid that met (and exceeded by $200) the reserve, he retracted his bid and entered another that was $1000 less. He has been blocked from bidding and his lowered bid was cancelled by me. He has been reported to Ebay. On Jul-20-11 at 00:07:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions about the location and registration of the bike. The bike is in Chicago. As stated above I just moved to Chicago. The bike has Nevada registration as I just moved from there. Nevada does not issue titles on previously titled bikes - you keep the title of the state it came from. In my case, being from Los Angeles, I had a California title. I hope this clears up a few questions that might remain. Thanks again for all the questions and e-mail.
