Scammers…Don’t waste your time…I know your tricks…. 1983 Mercedes 380 SEC 2 Door coupe. 3.8 V8 Gasoline Engine REBUILT by PRO - Rare Factory Ground Effects It is time to let go of my 1983 Mercedes 380 SEC Coupe. It runs great and has very low miles (117K on odometer) for a Mercedes and would make a great daily driver or weekend play toy. Highway MPG is about 25. An original CA car then to PHX. I bought it from a guy in Madison, WI who used it sparingly like me. The previous owner decided to ignore the factory recommendations to replace the timing chain at 80K and it went out on me and trashed some valves and a piston. The engine was subsequently totally rebuilt with new pistons, rings, all new valves, new water pump, oil pump, DUAL timing chain, gaskets, etc. This was done by the best Mercedes engine rebuilder up in NW Iowa and it runs wonderfully..Lake Engine and Machining. Go to http://www.lakesenginemachining.com and check him out… I have put on approx 5000 miles on it since rebuild and it uses no oil and the tranny is real tight. I have all the rebuild info for your viewing. The dash was cracked from the PHX sunshine so the previous owner had a good looking factory dash cap put on. The back seats are real good as is the carpet inside and trunk. The paint is in good shape and shines up nicely as you can see. It was repainted at some point and a pretty good job. No Dents or Dings..just a couple of minor scratches. Front seats are lightly worn but the seams are slightly coming apart due to the leather tightening, ..a good upholsterer could massage them but they are very functional right now. I have seat covers on. All glass good. Brakes good. NEW Tires. New battery…Factory Mercedes Chrome rims will need re-chromed or replaced for a show looking car. Original spare is in trunk. AC is cold and heater works. It has an alarm system which I have disconnected. The radio works good and plays CD's but not MP3's. It has receptors for speakers in the trunk and had a very powerful cell phone at one time. THIS car has NO RUST on it. Mostly aluminum German engineering so you will never have to deal with that. The seat belt deliverers work great. Cruise does not work. Headlight wiper washers do not work but are there. I have tried to be as pragmatic and realistic about this grand car.
