Vehicle Detail

Dayton Ohio area - near Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This is a really straight and solid hardtop Firebird. But it’s not running. Former owner in western-most Virginia said “cracked block or a blown head gasket.” My casual research indicates that oil in coolant (on a 3800 Series II motor) is often the result of failure of plastic components of the intake manifold, and that a cracked block is very unlikely. Who knows? We purchased this car as a parts donor to our ’96 FB convertible that slid under an Oldsmobile in the rain. Major components we took include the hood, hood supports, hinges, headlights, and the plastic bumper cover. A body shop we took our convertible into for an estimate intended to buff the scuffs out of the bumper cover. They said it was fine to repair with no rips or significant damage. It’s dark green and comes with the red car. I don't see any evidence that this car has ever been crashed. A minor wrinkle on the passenger side rocker panel is all of the crash body damage that I've found. It looks like he hit a tall curb. There is rust in both rear quarter panels between the door and the rear wheel openings. On the driver’s side; a good push made a hole. Otherwise the rest of this car’s panels are in great condition. Rear hatch is solid. Side doors have manual windows and locks. All of the door gaskets look good. It has a very new looking dual outlet exhaust system. The wheels are the mags that belong on a ’96 Bird. Front tires are almost brand new, rear tires are good. I need to say that I will consider reasonable offers, but I’m not inclined to sell less than all of the rest of it, EXCEPT that I also bought a pair of headlights separately and I have those on an eBay auction # 190552945399. If you need them and you buy this car I’ll make a very very special deal for you.
