Vehicle Detail

Offering a 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Sedan….this is powered by a 324 cubic inch rocket V8 engine with power brakes and power steering. This vehicle is all original with 49,000 miles….I am the 4th owner which originated in Schenectady New York in 1956….I have all of the documentation which shows all of the owners, the old registrations, service reports, inspections, etc which verifies that the odometer mileage is accurate…..I have owned the vehicle since 2006 and have had the following work performed….….Jetaway transmission was rebuilt for $2400…..harmonic balancer replaced, fuel /vacuum pump replaced, all four wheel cylinders replaced, all four shocks replaced, all fluids changed, two foggy side windows replaced , custom muffler and pipe system replaced……..brake shoes look new…..vehicle never fails to start and has current Massachusetts inspection sticker…..interior is entirely original including rugs…there are no tears in the roof liner….doors close properly and solidly….now for the downside…..weather stripping will need to be replaced….has some minor oil drips…..The horn button is mounted on steering column, the body has some rust holes and could use some body work and a paint job….the bumpers are rusted but not perforated…..my mechanic said the frame is in good shape…..the tires are also original Cooper tires….the Cooper tire person had never heard of that particular tire model due to their age……there is plenty of tread but they should be replaced with radials for handling and safety….the gas gauge is intermittent but is working now.......Clock is intact but does not work......radio is intact but does not work…..this vehicle was sold without seat belts as they were an option in 1956……I would strongly advise seat belt installation……the engine is quiet and does not smoke…….vehicle has a valid Massachusetts title…..it has been garaged during my ownership……..I think it is very unusual to find a vehicle this old that is all original and runs well and is priced very fairly……it would be a great candidate for restoration and the new owner could make the vehicle their own story with a partial restoration…….please ask questions before bidding…..vehicle sold as is....................Regarding questions from interested buyers.....the floor boards are solid with no rust through....the trunk floor is solid with no rust through.......there was rust in spare tire wheel well which I scraped clean and found no holes....wheel well was then spray painted black.....
