Vehicle Detail

Up for sale my `96 Ford Probe GT which I have owned since August 1999 !!! I am only the second owner, having bought the car when it came off a 3 year lease with about 36000 miles. So I have only done 50k approx in 12 yrs bringing the total to 84600, which is very low for one of these cars. Probe Gt`s are getting about as rare as hens teeth these days, espc 2 owner cars with these miles. I am a 55 year older driver and have never abused the machine in any way. No hard starts, gunning the engine etc, which oftens happens with these cars and their generally younger owners. It has been incredibly reliable and satisfying to drive. Never had a breakdown with this one, probably mostly due to the fact that the probe has a Mazda sourced engine and transmission. Smooth as cream this motor and uses no oil. This is a very reluctant sale due to the fact that I am retiring in August and returning to Ireland. Otherwise I would have been totally happy to keep this car for the next 10 years. The car is recently inspected and is in daily use. Pretty much no City driving throughout its life with me. Just light highway use. There is zero rust on the car, and being front wheel drive , handles great in snow or ice. Averages 28 mpg on the highway. Its also in the best color, black, with the tan interior, and of course, manual transmission. The car has the usual small dings and bumps from city parking in Boston where I live, thats always the problem with on street parking in cities !!! The drivers window hinge needs to be replaced at some point as it broke a few years ago when water got in and froze. Easy to get door hinges from a scrapyard, and a regular probe 4 cylinder model has the same hinge, so not hard to fix. Just never got around to doing it. Not a biggie, but thought I would mention it. The passenger mirror also needs to be glued back on, as it dried out and fell off. Its unmarked and the the motor works perfect for that mirror. An easy fix by any competant mechanic or enthusiast. Like a 10 minute job. The car got a new dual exhaust last year , along with new CV joints at front and an alternator. They just wore out with time which is normal. The AC blows ice cold air all day long, much appreciated in the current hot and muggy conditions here in Beantown !!! I have set a low reserve price and a very realistic ``But it Now`` price, so grab this beauty while you still can. They are really getting hard to find, espc nice ones like this. Deposit of $500 via Paypal omnly with 24 hrs please and balance within 7 days. Shipping is your responsibility but I will help however i can. Best of luck !!!! b
