Vehicle Detail
I have for sale an all original 1976 honda cb 550 four k motorcycle that i bought from the original owner. I do have a copy of the original MFG STATE OF ORIGIN title that helps prove the mileage. It shows he licensed the bike only 5 years, and the last year licensed was 1984. The bike has been sitting every since then and has suffered some fading of the original candy garnet brown paint. Though its only through the brown, the paint is still very shiny. The right side cover plate is also a little faded but very shiny also. The left side is in an almost untouched state (paint not faded). It would be easy to have painted the parts that were faded but i believe it would hurt the value of the bike. That being said, the bike runs SUPERB. All carbs were cleaned, changed spark plugs(i believe the original plugs), oil and filter changed with honda GN4 10w 40 oil put back in the motorcycle, gas tank was cleaned and red coated professianly at a local radiator shop. The air breather also i believe is the original (did not change), tires are also believed to be the original(mileage and tread should be correct for the tires). The crash bars were probably added from either dealer or mfg? There is also a luggage rack for the bike (not sure if factory or dealer installed). The factory tool kit is also still present with the bike (not sure if ever opened other than me changing the sparkplugs). Everything works and operates as expected. Also has a new battery that starts the motorcycle effortlessly. I have since put approx. 9 miles on the bike running around the neighberhood with it. It runs excellent, the brakes work good (front and back), the horn and turn signal buzzer works as well, you can let go of the handlebars at approx. 25-30 mph and the bike is very true still. Transmission operates excellent up through the gears. The chain sprocket shows very little wear if any at all. Very fun to ride!! We recently adjusted the sync on the carbs, one is still a little off. If time permitting before the end of the auction (no promises) we may try to adjust the valves just to see where they are at. All parts removed from the bike will go with the new owner. There is a small ding on the right lower part of the tank, the seat has a crack in it also, could change it but didnt want to change anything that could hurt the value (You can find covers here on ebay for as little as $79.00). There is a small hole on the bottom of the upper right exhaust pipeabout the size of a pencil eraser. I think it is a small rust spot. You cant see it, i only knew it was there from cleaning the pipes. May be patchable or maybe not even worry about it. The paint on the frame is still very shiny with no scratches that i have noticed. Tire sizes are FRONT-Bridgestone super speed-21 F2 size 3.25s19 4 ply REAR Bridgestone super speed-21 F2 size 3.75s18 4 ply. PLEASE DO NOT BID OR HIT BUY NOW UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO PAY! Also, you will be resposible for shipping, pick up, all costs pertaining to the purchase, or costs involved in the shipping of the bike! After the sale, if i am suppose to help pay shipping then get reimbursed, you will be given a negative feed back then reported to ebay as a fruad. I have to do it this way as i almost got swindled out of $800.00! SORRY to all the honest people! My reserve is set at $2600.00. I also have the bike for sale locally, so i reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally. If any questions please feel free to ask and i will get back to you as soon as possible. My email is dwebb0305@gmail.com Thanks and good luck Don.
