Available for eBay auction is this lightly used 1980 Suzuki RM250. Truly a "Time Capsule" the bike is still wearing the original tires showing how little use the machine has enjoyed over the years. This fine example was rescued from an outdoor steel garden shed many years ago, it has undergone a light cosmetic restoration to clean up some of the rust and scars of too many years sitting with out use. On display in a private collection for the past few years, the carburetor was disassembled and properly cleaned, the oil has been drained, the clutch cover, cylinder, and head were bead blasted and painted. New Gaskets were used on the assembly. The pipe, silencer, pegs, and various items were also sanded primed and refinished. The fork boots are new OEM as well as the rubber bumpers between the shock reservoirs and frame. The tank and side panel decals are new, and the number plate ovals have been refinished as well. The chain and kill switch have been replaced as have some of the fasteners. This bike shows beautifully, and the tasteful cosmetic restoration has maintained the original patina of this "practically unused" 1980 race bike. Minor apologies include some light rust and discoloration on some of the metal parts, a small tear in the seat cover, and the rubber shock bottoming bumpers have long since deteriorated. With some minor preparation and detailing the bike will be ready to race again, or displayed as is for others to enjoy for years to come.
