Vehicle Detail
1973 TRIUMPH STAG CONVERTIBLE HISTORY The Stag saw relatively few changes during its seven-year life span. Perhaps the most important was the February 1973 debut of a Mark II version for the 1973-1977 Triumph Stag with numerous minor updates, including reduced compression and a revised interior with changed seats and a smaller steering wheel. Only a handful of these Stags reached the U.S. and can be identified by the absence of rear-quarter windows in the soft top. Upholstery was always vinyl, though it looked nice, and real wood covered the dash from day one. For the car's size, there was ample luggage space in the fully carpeted trunk. The Stag also offered oft-praised ergonomics and a high level of standard equipment. The only major options besides the removable roof were air conditioning (about $500 here) and an AM/FM radio. U.S. Stags even included genuine wire wheels. Something else to know: Given proper care, the Stag is little prone to rust and suffers few electrical gremlins -- downright surprising for a Seventies Brit, let alone a British Leyland product.. The Triumph Stag Convertible featured in this auction has only 23,669 actual miles. I am selling it for friend in Winchester Virginia. It has always been garaged. Originally an Iowa car, It now has a Virginia title in the owners name and is currently licensed and insured. CONDITION This Triumph Stag Convertible was a very presentable low mileage example before being treated to a complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration. It is equipped with the Automatic transmission, Power Windows, Power Steering and Brakes, Factory Air Conditioning that is not cold and the top rollbar. It runs and drives Great. Recent mechanical improvements include a carburetor rebuild, a new battery and an underhood detail to include new hood insulation. The alloys wear new Michelin rubber. There is a beautifully restored Tan Vinyl interior to include all seats, new carpets, integral headrests and a New Rimmer Brothers Tan canvas top from England. The top and integral headrest seats are a 1971 style with quarter windows in the top. It also includes a matching hardtop that has been restored as well. The new Mallard Green paint is show quality. The chrome is very nice as well. On the downside, there is no Radio and a single crack in the dashpad. This has to be one of the best Stags on the planet! You would be proud to display this car at any show in the country! DETAILS This is a Beautiful Show Quality Restored Triumph Stag Convertible. You can drive this car to Cruise Ins and shows right now. You can get into the Collector car hobby with a turnkey car for reasonable money. I believe that this Triumph Stag Convertible can be driven to any destination. It is freshly serviced and ready to go. I have done my best to make an accurate detailed description of this car.
