Vehicle Detail

Notice: I posted this car on here a couple of months ago, and couple of days before the auction ended, i started getting a ticking sound from the #1 rocker. I re-adjusted the rockers, and it came back after a few minutes, so I ended up pulling the engine apart, and finding that one of the lifters was flat, as well as one cam lobe. So, the car now has a BRAND NEW COMP CAM, and LIFTER set, NEW TIMING CHAIN, NEW TIMING GEARS, and new gaskets. I broke it in using the comp cams oil additive etc properly, and have driven the car less than 10 miles since.  *THIS IS A NO-RESERVE AUCTION!!!!  It's a 1964 Ford Falcon Futura with a 1970 (or 1971?) 351 Cleveland FACTORY 4V, WITH 4V HEADS, Holley double pumper carb, Holley Strip Dominator single plane intake, 4-speed manual toploader transmission, 57-59 Ford 9 inch rear end with 2:80 gears, open rear end, koni shocks all the way around (brand new in the front with mustang style shock tower caps), with brand new 620 coil springs combined with OpenTracker roller spring perches. It rides very smooth and handles very well. The tires have less than 100 miles on the front, and less than 500 on the rear. All 4 are BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. The front rims are American Racing Torq Thrust D's 15x7, the rears are old style 14 inch American Racing style wheels with straight spokes. The car had 14 inch wheels on the front, and the inner part of the tires were rubbing the upper control arms so I switched to 15 inch wheels in the front. The front disc brake/sway bar setup is from a Granada as far as I know. The e-brake works fine too out back. THIS AUCTION COMES WITH THE 2 ORIGINAL 14 INCH E/T MAG WHEELS IN THE TRUNK.   *I cannot find any rust on the car. It's a factory San Jose, California car. The carb is not new or rebuilt and would probably perform better if rebuilt. The car starts/idles/runs fine through the gears. It runs great in the turns and on the freeway, and has PLENTY of power. It has a very slight grind when cold and ONLY sometimes when going into 2nd gear. Something might need adjusting, I really don't know and don't have the time to trace things like that down. I drove the car very often. It rides much better now that it's up a little higher with the new additions. And it also makes it a lot more drivable since before the oil pan was way too close to the ground. The car is all very solid ford metal, not the cheap repo stuff, and all of the chrome is original as well. The grille looks like a 65, and might be. It was on the car when I got it, and haven't had any desire to change it.  The paint is fairly new, and looks great, but does have a few runs and is not perfect with chips here and there. The car has been daily driven for a very long time, and the engine was rebuilt recently (before the cam/lifter problem). The car was originally Skylight Blue, with Medium & Light Blue Metallic crush vinyl-bench seat, built in June, the DSO is Los Angeles, 3:20 to 1 gears, 2 speed auto and 170ci 6 cyl engine from the factory. So the car has come a long way in performance aspects!  *The speedometer, fuel gauge, tach on dash, temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and amp gauge all work fine. The interior dome light works, the radio works but doesn't sound good. Buyer will have to arrange shipping/pick up.  Feel free to ask any questions. The reserve is much less than what it would cost to build this car! It's not a show car, but it is a very nice super nostalgic car!! NO RESERVE!!!!!! NO RESERVE!!!!!! NO RESERVE!!!     Here's a pic with the 14 inch setup/old suspension...   here's pictures with the old 14 inch wheel setup... On Jul-06-11 at 07:27:09 PDT, seller added the following information: On Jul-06-11 at 21:34:48 PDT, seller added the following information: 7/6/11: I noticed the passenger rear drum started to drag, so today the car got new rear wheel cylinders, springs for the rear drums (all that were available), shoes, and the drums turned.
