Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a very nice 1970 Firebird Esprit. There has been thousands spent on this car is the last five years. This is a very nice, very clean, rust free car that can be driven and shown anywhere. It is not perfect but it is not far away. The car is a TRUE 350, 4-speed car (see decode below) with a factory 10 bolt, tilt wheel, power steering, and front disc brakes. Outside; New paint 5 years ago that looks great with only a couple very small imperfections. New door seals and trunk seal at that time. All glass is in good shape without cracks, chips, etc. All brite-trim, grille, lenses, etc. are in nice shape as well. New 17” tires / wheels about 1,000 miles ago. F = 235-45-17’s R = 275-40-17’s Under the hood / Drive train; Completely rebuilt “WU” code 350 . (W= 4-spd block). Casting # 9799916 = 1970 350 V-8 topped off with the 1-1 heads = “D” port 1970. An Edelbrock Torker II intake, Performer carb, and Comp cams 272 for great power and a wonderfully aggressive sound at idle. New Show chrome factory valve covers and air cleaner (400 logo but it’s a 350). All new belts, hoses, water pump, fuel filter, heater hoses, spark plugs, plug wires, Billet HEI distributor, thermostat, clamps, and more… The motor is bolted to a Muncie M-21 4-speed transmission that shifts smooth and is very tight. The clutch is also new with around 1,000 miles on it. The rear end is a factory 10 bolt with a 3:31gear ratio non-posi. The exhaust is handled by headers into new aluminized 2 ¼” mandrel bent tubing, flowing through Flowmaster super 40’s and exiting through new factory tail pipes. All body mounts are in great shape showing no wear / deterioration. Interior; The interior is mostly stock with a new carpet kit, dash pad some time in the recent past, and brand new seats that are adjustable for drivers from 4’-10” to 6’-8”. The car does have the 160 mph speedo and full mechanical gauges installed high in the dash that look like they came factory. The radio is inop and will need to be replaced. Trunk; The trunk has been coated with the original “trunk spatter” and finished off with a factory trunk mat. There is no spare tire or jack / tool kit. Suspension; The suspension has been rebuilt not too long ago with new upper and lower ball joints, new tie rod ends, center link, idler arm, and pitman arm. The wheel bearings are tight and I just had the alignment checked. The shocks looked good and were not replaced. Front disc / rear drum brakes. The car starts right up, sounds great, pulls hard, drives very nice, stops straight, and is really a joy to run around in! This car turns heads and gets numerous thumbs up’s! Everything works as it should from the turn signals to the back up lights when it’s in reverse. This is a very nice car that can be driven anywhere and shown on weekends if you choose. It is not a $30k trailer queen but is a lot better than the reserve I have set on this auction.
