Vehicle Detail
Please ask questions BEFORE you bid. Second owner. Bought from Mercedes dealer in 1997 w/ 71,448 miles. No accidents. I was deployed for 18 months & last year we bought 2 cars. Car parked since last Sept. & got very little use last 2 years. The preferred buyer is either a mechanic or someone who knows a mechanic. All know issues with the car are listed below in the description. Exterior: Overall condition is very good. 2 small dings, 3 small spots rust. See pictures. Sharp looking. Front clear plastic housing around lights replaced w/ OEM parts. Rims are in very good condition. Full size spare on same rim. All tires are in very good shape. Interior: Overall condition is very good. Small tear in passenger seat in back. See picture. No cracks in dash. All wood work original. Power seats & sunroof work fine. Carpeting is in great shape. Original floor mats included. Vanity lights for visor mirrors work fine. Sony after market CD player installed that recently stopped working. I never bothered to investigate cause. Power antenna not working. Mechanical: New battery installed a couple of weeks ago. The car starts. I drive it up & down the driveway. Engine works fine. It needs a little gas on a cold start. Plenty of power. Tires & brakes are fairly new. Odometer stopped working at 97,000. I don't know current mileage. Estimating around 200,000 +. AC stopped working. A quart of oil needs to be added between oil changes. It's been like that since I owned the car. In its later years, it seems to need a little more. Passed its last emissions test. Biggest problem w/ car is the transmission. Car wasn't shifting properly. Checked the transmission fluid level & it was low. Topped it off & it was fine for a while but it started acting up again. I recommend towing the car. I will have it towed to a private address or business up to 100 miles from my address (no junk yards or salvage yards). That was the only major issue with the car since I've owned it. Well maintained. I have service records. Wheels and battery alone are valued over $700.00. Car needs to be towed. CANNOT be driven as is.
