Vehicle Detail
First the bad: You are looking at a very nice '88 corvette with 22k miles. Car fax shows this car to be free of accidents or theft. The only issue I have with the car is I have no title. I bought the car locally 1 1/2 years ago with a bill of sale only from a gentleman that never had the car registered in his name. I didn't think it would be a problem getting a title. Here is the situation with the title. Since I have owned the car, I have worked 50-70 hours a week at a nuclear plant so I haven't had a much time to do the research of getting the title, so I had a friend do it for me. Here is what I have learned. This car was last registered in Georgia in 2007 and he had an Atlanta car dealer do some research on the car. He tried to find the last registered owner and it appears he is now deceased. The dealer provided me with a form that needs to be filled out by a State of Georgia Police Officer. Once the form is filled out, it is mailed in with another document that applies for a "lost Title". Bottom line is, if you live in Georgia, it should be easy to complete the title process. If you live in another state, you may want to contact your county clerk before bidding, and see how the process will work in your state. This car is not stolen nor is there anything "shady" going on here. Please read some of my feedback. I am a serious ebayer and corvette fanatic. I just do not have the time to pursue this anymore The Good......Description: This car is almost like new. It drives and handles very well. She still has the original Goodyear 275/40/17 tires on her but they are starting to dry rot. I would not recommend driving this car for any long distance before replacing the tires. I was going to take the original tires/wheels off and put a set of black ZR-1/Grand sport with machined lip wheels and new tires on her. Black wheels on this color car look awesome in my opinion. The L98 engine runs very strong and free of codes. The Doug Nash 4+3 shifts great with no issues, and according to the corvette black book, the '88 coupes were equipped with a 3:07 gear and freer flowing mufflers. That explains the fantastic factory sound and incredible low end torque!! Issues: The only problems with the car is it has a cracked windshield, the AC blows but not cold, and the Bose stereo has some crackling in the sound (the cassette does work). There are a few blemishes on the clear coat (see photos), and the drivers seat has a small wear mark on the right had side. Other than these minor problems, the car is like new. This is a 12-16k dollar car with a clear title. But I am willing to let her go at a loss because I have an '86 Z51 auto that I have been restoring, and I am growing more fond of automatic c4's than manuals. I would prefer no trades. But I may consider a partial trade on a late model C3 or early C4 corvette project car. I am wanting to start doing partial restorations on these cars with my 16 year old son. I would also consider a SS impala project as a partial trade. If you have questions, please email or call 865-607-5234. No phone calls after 8pm est!! I will require a non refundable 500.00 deposit via paypal within 48 hrs of auction end. No warranties are implied or given. On Jul-02-11 at 14:04:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I just lowered the reserve and added a "Buy It Now". I never dreamed I would sale this car for less than 10k, but I need the money and its time for it to go. Some one will get a great deal on a car that is almost new. No disappointments.....................Good Luck!!!!
