Volkswagen Karmann Ghia,1968.PERFECT. NO RUST.NEW MOTOR This auction is for a near perfect 1968 VW Ghia CPE. Unlike some other high end Karmann Ghia auction's I see up for sale that almost all have replaced floors. This Karmann Ghia has ALL original floors + . NO RUST AT ALL EVER................ Originally from Texas where it was stored for 26 years. The reason I bought it was that I was able to establish via the photos I received and other info that this car was/is a straight body find. There is NO damage or rust. After a close inspection when I first bought the car I was very please to see that there was no damage or rust ever on this car. Perfect. It was a true survivor. All the seams are factory original, and all on in excellent condition. It has all original HELLA lights, and head lite rings, including the factory AM/FM radio/Clock and it works. All the rubber the rubber gaskets grommets & seals have been replaced. It had the original Lotus White factory paint which was in better condition then expected. However, due to some minor dings and couple of scuff marks I decided to have it repainted in the same original color. It was done as good as the factory paint by a top restorer body expert. Everything from the exterior , and the interior (Including the Motor) was removed and sent to the shop to restore. Pryor to that I replaced the gas tank, Master Cyl, Tie Rod ends, Steering Dampener, Shocks , Tires, updated Calipers, Axel boots, Clutch & Throw out bearing. Every single piece of rubber was replaced. Including the Head Liner. When the car was returned I was delighted with the quality of the work. Looking down the sides (See photos) you will not find any waves, ripples or orange peel at all. It looks better in person then in the photos. I cant tell you how many complements I get every time I have taken the car to a car show or anywhere. However the only unfinished area are the carpets and seat covers. I have temp covers on now. Given this I am slightly more negotiable Please note that the sale of this car also includes the following, 1. The Original 1500cc Motor.
