Vehicle Detail
FIRST BID IS MY RESERVE PRICE. I purchased this car about 8 years ago in Portland Oregon and imported it into Canada. I bought it to use for a convertible restoration but the body was so nice I decided to fix it up (check my other ad for the convertible). I did a full frame on restoration and used it as a daily driver. The car was white when I bought it and has matching numbers 390 engine. I have full photos of before, after and all the restoration so you can see how little rust it had. THIS IS A DRIVING, RUNNING CAR but still needs a few things. IT IS NOT A SHOW CAR, I did all the body work myself and it looks great 10 feet away. The paint has a little orange peel and a few droops but it looks good and I get thumbs up everywhere I go. It still needs some work to finish it off but I have been using it as a weekend driver and going to car shows with it. History. It was parked in Portland in 1974 and I have the title renewal for then that was not filled out. The body was very solid and not rusted out. I cut out a small 2X2 inch patch above the passengers rear wheel, a 6X8 panel on the passengers floor and 2 patch panels on the lower front fenders behind the front wheels. All patches were welded in properly. I stripped the car down and repainted all the parts and reassembled it. I sand blasted where needed and removed any signs of rust. 7 years later the car still shows no sign of rust and retains most of the original under coating. I had the interior professionally done to red and white leather and black carpet. It was a Persian sand cloth color and it still has it's original head liner. A few of the buttons have come loose. I used Por 15 on all the floors and sprayed the interior white. I added heated seat pads and put the switch near the power seat buttons. It still needs to be hard wired to the car. The power seats, windows, radio, horn and power antenna work. The odometer, speedometer, autronic eye, cruise control, radio advance foot pedal and power door locks do not work. I did replace the power lock and power trunk cylanoids, they work but they need to be hooked up. The trunk is not finished. The dash is perfect and was re-sprayed red to match the interior. The wipers were working up till about a month ago I rewired it with a different switch and it worked OK but now it stopped working, I don't know why. I did not re-chrome all the bumpers and they are as they were when I got the car. They could use to be done or drive it as it is. The suspension needs to be done. I did not touch anything on it so it needs new shocks, bushings, tie rods, ball joints, etc. It drives OK but it does float as it cruises along. I had the breaks all replaced with all new parts. The master cylinder was redone 3 times by the same shop and it still leaks. It works fine but I need to top it up once and a while. It leaks between the booster where shims were used to put it back together. The rad, engine and fuel tank/lines were flushed out. The carb, water pump, starter, steering box and heads were all redone. New radial white wall tires were installed. I have not had time to use it over 2 years so the gas is bad, it runs a little rough but it is just the fuel. The tranny was inspected and it works fine. This is a nice looking SOLID car that can be used as is while you finish it. It has a few nicks and scratches but it is very presentable. I have tried to be as honest as possible about the listing. You can fly in and drive it home if it's not too far, have it shipped (I can assist on my end) or drive in with a truck/trailer, we can have a drink or two and go over all the pictures I have, and you can trailer it home. I am sure I am forgetting things I have done to it but ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. If you want any particular pictures of the car let me know and I will try to get them. The car is in my garage and ready to take for a test drive. a $500 deposit is due at the end of the auction. Email me and we can work out the rest. I can store the car for a bit till you get here. I have clear Portland title (stamped by US customs for export) and current Alberta regrestration. On Jul-01-11 at 07:37:43 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS AUCTION CAN END ANYTIME (JUST LIKE MY OTHER AUCYION DID) WITH THE RIGHT OFFER SO IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT BUYING, EMAIL ME AND HAVE YOUR PAYPAL DEPOSIT READY.
