Vehicle Detail
Just out of storage is my 1972 Mustang 2 door hardtop. The 01 on the paperwork I think means it was a 1971 model, sold new in Dec. 1972 and titled as a 1972. That is what I have interpreted from all the paper work. What is included is the original sales receipt, copy of original title, selectoplate, original title packet, sales packet, license plates, original plastic trash bag issued with the car and some other items. This car is a real Barrett Jackson find and could be sold there. Just look at the pictures. This car is all original right down to the hoses and belts. I had to update some items to get her back on the road. Just installed: New- radiator, heater coil, load adjusting shocks, fuel pump and hoses, new carb rebuilt, trunk liner, speedometer gage cluster glass, new wires, rotor and cap are motor craft replacement just years old. Good copper cap and rotor. Runs strong!!!! Everything works as new. AM radio, heater, wipers and a 351 Cleveland 2V 248HP and chirps the tires when hit second gear. I test drove the car today and touched 120 mph racing a Chrysler hemi. He was blown away at what my old car could do. This mustang was made to have a lot of go and not much whoa. She has manual steering; manual brakes, but they are the 2.5 x 10 inch front drums. Has plenty of stopping power if your leg can do the push. I am 6'6 and 240 lbs and fit nice behind the wheel. You will get plenty of looks in this yellow jacket. All in all, this car is mostly original except for the new items as listed above. Even have the original spare, jack and jack handle. I bought this car from a local man that drove it to school. He and his dad bought the car right off the show room floor at an inflated price. You have to see the original paperwork that goes with the car. It is unbelievable! I think they paid a little too much. But now NADA says the car is worth well over $11,000 for average and up to $17,250 for very good. This car is close to very good condition. Let the pictures tell the story. Back to the local man and his dad. Gary, the son of James, drove the car to the University of Nebraska and the window stickers are still in the rear window illustrating the dates 1971, 1972 and 1973. Gary drove the car easy for he is really laid back person. He said he hit 100 mph only on one occasion just to see what she could do. Gary has been a farmer since he left school and let the car go into storage for the last 12 years. I came across this fine girl in his garage and said what is it? It was covered up with 2x4's, dirt, plywood and other debris. He said it's my old mustang. Do you want to sell her? NO NO NO he said. So I came back to see her 2 years later and now she's mine and soon can be yours. If you’re looking for a true survivor, look no further. The engine compartment has never been cleaned up but looks presentable. The underside of the car has been factory undercoated and shows good for being over 40 years old. Exhaust tail pipe has some holes and should be replaced. Interior has one hole in the headliner, small 2 inch hairline crack in dash and hole in driver’s seat. None of which are very noticeable and can be repaired easy. So let the pictures do the rest of the talking for me. If you have any questions just let me know. I bought the car with 48,390 original miles and she now has just 48,850. Drives like new! Don't be afraid to put the pedal down...
