I love buying cars on a Sunday evening. It’s something about the last light of day and the last chance for some car guy therapy. I was surprised to find out this split bumper Camaro was still hanging around with such a modest buy in price. I loaded up the Jeep and looked forward to a pleasant drive through the delta. I arrived at a small river town and talked to a knowledgeable car buff who was an animated story teller. The guy was cool, the car was nice, original, and pretty unmolested. We had a good conversation and swiftly struck a deal as light was fading. The tow driver arrived quickly, so we swapped numbers and handshakes and promised to speak again in the near future. This car was bought by my friend as the tow truck dropped it off 2 hours later. He had been asking for a second gen Camaro and eagerly awaited our arrival. It was a no brainer for him but later he would trade it back to me for a Porsche with flares and a whale tail (plus cash). This car has a 4 bolt main & a steel crank engine I was told. It’s not rusty. It had spent many years, close to a decade I believe, in the man’s garage. The key had stuck in the key switch and he just stopped driving it. He had pulled out the interior and put it in the trunk. It was a green interior and a green body originally. This car’s got a ton going for it. When it started up, my friends were very impressed. It runs good but the flywheel’s on its last legs. It goes all chitty, chitty, bang, bang when you fire it up. I can tell you guys are pretty fired up on this car, and thanks for your offers.
