Vehicle Detail

1963 FALCON SPRINT CONVERTIBLE WITH AIR CONDITIONING!!!! (Originally a 4 speed!!) This is a restored (originally 4 speed) Sprint that was converted to an automatic, and shows beautifully. The air conditioning blows ice cold. It was originally a 4 speed car as the documentation shows now a floor-shift automatic. It was built in Loraine, and delivered to Houston. There are no squeeks, rattles or noises of any kind--and that is unusual for a car of this age and vintage. The wood grained steering and horn ring are original and nearly perfect. The base price for an original convertible was $2,837 and there were 4,502 made. There is a roster of Falcon owners that a previous owner compiled back in 1987 and goes with the car. The top, body, paint, interior, undercarriage and chrome are in excellent condition. The car has a lot of documentation including the glove box manual and pictures of the restoration. This appears to have been a rust free car. The tires, magnums and mechanicals are in excellent shape. The car runs and drives as new. The exhaust is like new and has a great sound. Everything is properly serviced, and ready to drive. It is a 260 V8 and very quick off the line. It does not have power steering, but with the tires just a bit over pressure, it steers easily and absolutely no drift that the power steering in these models gives you. It has a new in-glove Pioneer stereo system with speakers in the kick panels and dash (proper place). I don't think there are any excuses with this car, and can't say enough about it. The black and gold combination is georgeous. Someone may want to converrt it to the 4 speed that it was originally, but it drives so well as it is that you'll think twice! I encourage you to come see it or send your appraiser before bidding. The car is being sold as is where is. The car is in VA. My cell is 617-592-0148 for serious buyers. 76B (Sprint Convertible) I (Gold) 86A (Black trim) 09E ( May 9) 62 (DSO -Houston Texas) 4 Axle (3.25/1) 5 (Trans. 4 SPEED) On Jun-25-11 at 18:45:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention the top which is black and in excellent condition with a clear plastic window and no noticable blemishes. On Jun-26-11 at 12:48:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Ive been asked about the documentation. There are about 35 pictures , and bunch invoices. The resto pictures are undated, but I believe the car was taken apart in '87. Looks like other pictures (fewer) dated in '09 lookd to be interior and top and perhaps motor. There is also the glove box manual. The best piece is an envelope dated 2/28/87 to someone who bought the car from a previous owner. There was an attached survey performed by the owner. It has a state by state listing of 63 Sprint Owners. It lists 65 owners of 1963 Sprints. 26 were convertibles and 30 had 4 speeds. There is even reference to a 6 cyl. sprint with a 4 speed. It has addresses of owners and is a real find in my opinion! On Jun-27-11 at 13:25:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been asked when the pictures were taken. They were taken the day before, and same day the ad was placed. Also the note above refers to the survey that the previous owner performed. This car has NOT had 65 owners--65 owners responded to the survey. Thanks for the question! Hope that clarifies my note.
