Vehicle Detail
Unfortunately I'm selling my Beautiful 1987 Porsche Cabriolet because I need another vehicle to carry more things, and I already have another great convertible. This is a great car, is adult owned, and has been serviced by one of the finest Porsche Shops in my area. I know the previous two owners, and they also took great car of this car, and both purchased another Porsche. The paint is almost all original, I had the hood painted a few years ago when a piece of metal hit it on the freeway, and I just had the front bumper stripped, anodized, and painted since some of the finish was peeling, this was very expensive! (see photos) and it now looks beautiful. The car was just professionally detailed, oil changed, AC charged. The AC compressor, and the other AC components were replaced last year. and the tires and brakes are great. The Original Porsche Fuch Wheels were professionally polished, and look beautiful! The clutch and Cat were replaced about 5 years ago, and I have put very little mileage on them, and I'm very good with the clutch, I have owned may Porsche automobiles, and know how to drive them, so it has a Long time left. Last year I spent over $3,000.00 on new seat upholstery, (original type leather & vinyl material) and new Lloyd interior mats, and carpet under mats, and rear cargo area mat. I had the Front Camber Bar installed a few years ago, and it works great. The car has a new Kenwood CD Radio, with the iPod plug in for your iPod or iPhone on front, and a remote. If you have an iPhone, it mutes the music when your receive a call, pretty neat! The rear 3rd brake ls off a late model 911 and gives the car a great look! The air pump, original tools, car cover, original radio and Bra are included. This is a great car, and needs nothing but a new owner to drive it, and take car of it. It will most certainly become a classic, plus you won't lose $50,000.00+ in just a few years by buying a new one. This car has always been pampered, polished and garaged. Also It just passed the very difficult California Smog Test with No Issues, (see photo) this is a very good indicator about the overall health of the motor. Please email me if you have any questions. Thanks! On Jun-27-11 at 20:52:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Some answers. Records - yes, binder of records back to 1994Accidents - NoneDask Cracks - None interior is very nice no cracks in anythingRust - None ( there is some film rust you will see in battery photo, it had a much longer battery, and it has scuffed paint, and probably some acid got on paint, so it flaked off. I did not want to change anything, but some steel wool and some good paint will fix this small area) Otherwise the car is totally rust free, has been a California Car for many years, and as I said before, I knew the previous two owners, and it was always in their garage, and never driven as a daily driver. Next year it will be 25 years old, so this is only an average of 5,900 miles per year. As you can see, the paint is amazing, and the rest of the car is way above average condition, and no dents! The paint is as nice as the paint on my 2002 Mercedes! I dont know what else I can tell anyone about this car, it is a great vehicle, and I feel in amazing condition for its age. You would spend a ton of money on paint, interior, and everything else to get most in this condition. People mention the mileage, but as you wil read, these engines have no problem going 200K miles if taken care of. If someone buys this car and drives this car like the previous owners have , and not a Daily Driver, this should be many years before you would even be talking rebuild. For my work, I drive a GMC Van with 195K miles, no rebuild, and this engine is not half of what a engine in a Porsche is, but everyone wants the super low mileage cars, they are much more expensive, and not without issues! I have purchased them in the past, and they can be the ones with the big issues from non-use. Porsche like to be driven!
