Vehicle Detail
1959 CADILLAC SERIES 62 CONVERTIBLE The year is 1962, my dad was seventeen and had just left home looking for work. Along the way he found himself walking down a dusty dirt road, it was hot and he had not seen a car in quite sometime. All at once he heard a car coming up behind him followed by a dust cloud, the car sped past him covering him in dust. Once the dust settled he saw the car stopped about a 1/8 mile down the road, it was not like anything he had seen before. He walked up to these massive tail fins with bullet tail lights, the biggest he had ever seen. He continued up to the driver's door and found two hefty women sweating and eating a big tub of greasy chicken. The driver took the chicken leg out of her mouth and asked "do you need a ride sweetheart?" He replied "sure", the women looked at each other and started laughing. She then reached over and hit the button to put the top down, the top came down and the passenger asked "well aren't you gettin' in?" He jumped over the side and into the back, both women started giggling as they took off. As they were flying down the road the women never said another word to him, they just kept eating their chicken and throwing the bones in the back at him while giggling. This is the story my dad always told me growing up, and where he fell in love with the 1959 convertible Cadillac. Later he bought two of these cars in the late 70's, this car was like new when he bought it. Since then it was parked in a barn in Boise for 20 years. We had to move to Alaska for work due to the hard economic times in the 80's. Once we moved back to Idaho the car was transferred into a shop in 2004 and parked, that is when I purchased it from him. This car has not moved since it was brought to the shop. I had big hopes of restoring it, but due to tough economic times I cannot do it, and have decided to let it go to a new home in hopes that it can come back to life! The car is white with red interior. It has power windows, power seat, easy eye. The car is the way it is from just sitting and never being ran. You will see in the pictures the windshield was hit with something. One of the drivers side fog light was kicked out. A piece of chrome was stripped off the passenger side door and the top was slit in various places. This damage happened about 3 years ago from someone who broke into the shop and vandalized and stole items. Other than that everything is there and in really good condition. There is not any noticeable rust. If you have any questions please feel free to email.
