Here for sale is my 1957 Chevy Belair 2 door hardtop. Previous owner paid $36,000.00 for this car, drove it very seldom and it sat out on his concrete driveway for about 6 years. All the glass was replaced with the exception of the rear windshield, it is tinted and looks like new. The chrome and stainless must have been replaced, because it all looks like new. The dash is beautiful in with no corrosion on any of the dash fixtures and steering wheel, has a show shine finish. The interior was done in red and black pleated vinyl and shows as new with the exception of a small spot on the passenger side seat back that a field mouse had a field day with. It is very small and easy to repair. It has Tri-Five Chevy floor mats with Chevrolet emblem on them, it has original style after market radio with a CD player in the trunk. To make a long story short, I own a body shop and I have been restoring cars for over 30 years and see these cars in decent driving condition, any where between 12K and 15K. Then you have to spend another 12K on all of the exterior stainless, chrome and glass and interior, that is not the case with this car. With the exception of the 4 or 5 small spots that need to be repaired (shown in the photos), those repairs can be made very easily and the majority of the cost would be in the painting and body work of this car. With that in mind and I my self owning a body shop, it would have only been labor and cost of materials, that is why I bought the car. This will be an awesome deal for someone who just wants to deal with refinishing without dealing with all of the other costs. The drivetrain, I was told is a 350 small block with a turbo 350 transmission, the car runs and drives good. May need a little tinkering with because it sat for a while.
