Up for auction is a 1978 Mercedes 2 door hardtop. It has a 280 fuel injected 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed automatic transmission. The car shows its age in wear but is not in bad condition. The body is straight and doesn't have any rust but the paint is old and faded. The driver seat is torn some from getting in & out of but the rest of the interior is decent. The engine still runs good but will let out a little smoke if driven hard but is ok under normal driving. The tires are good and it has the original alloy wheels. I think this would be a nice car to do a show quality restoration on or maybe just have an eccentric back up ride. The a/c doesn't blow cold so needs charging and could use a tune up. The transmission started acting up yesterday, sometimes it shifts and sometimes it doesn't. I'm told by a couple of mechanics that the modulator valve has gone bad from sitting and it is an easy fix. I was also told the fuel injectors need to be cleaned. It has sat more than driven in the past 2 years. Winning bidder pays shipping. Clear Georgia title.
