NO RESERVE AUCTION. ABSOLUTE SALE AFTER THE FIRST VALID BID, SO BID TO WIN. RELISTED DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER. IF YOU CAN"T FOLLOW THROUGH, PLEASE DO NOT BID 1991 (Phase 2) Black Cadillac Allante Convertible with Black canvas top and Tan / Taupe interior. with 141,900 miles. This is not a show car but rather is a great weekend cruiser or collector car to restore fully. Destined to someday be a Classic collector car. These cars are loads of fun to drive and they draw a lot of attention wherever they go. Many people have never even seen one. There are great clubs and websites like allantesource.com and cadillacallanteclub.com for information and parts etc. I am including in the sale price a full factory service manual and some additional literature on the car. These cars were hand built by Pininfarina in Italy and then flown on a 747 to Detroit for final assembly. Very rare and collectible sexy euro look sports Convertible. Very powerful and fast 4.5 V8 Port Fuel Injected, Front wheel drive, Automatic trans-axle, loaded with all the usual Cadillac amenities. These cars have Bosch 4 wheel ABS and speed sensitive steering as well as a sophisticated on-board diagnostic system and computerized monitoring of all functions of the car. Truly advanced for the era. These cars were built by GM to compete with the Mercedes 450SL and other fine European sports cars. They were only made from 1987 to 1993 and will surely increase in value as time goes on. The average sales price is currently about $6,000 to $12,000 nationally for one that is restored or a good functioning original. Check them out here on eBay. This car has no known engine or transmission issues. It starts right up and runs well but should be tuned up and the old fuel either used up or drained out as it has been stored and not driven much. I have put less than 1000 miles on it since I have owned it. The exhaust is a bit louder than intended, but there are no bad pipes or leaks. The baffles are just bad in the original muffler, I personally like the way it sounds sort of throaty under accelleration, quiet when cruising. The car can be driven just as it is, but it has been stored and was only driven a few weekends since mid 2007. It probably should be serviced before driving long distances of more than say 300 miles. It drips a little transmission or steering fluid when parked overnight. I have not attempted to find out where it is coming from. It amounts to a few drips only and is not a great big deal but I wanted to mention it. I received a bad feedback rating from the last car I sold on here. Perhaps I did not list every single thing about the car in the ad because I expect the buyer to do their due diligence and understand that it was a 20 year old car with wear and tear. I did not hide anything purposely and feel it is impossible to list every single thing about a car when selling like this. After over 4000 transactions on eBay, it was my first negative mark and to avoid another bad mark, I am going to over-describe this car and point out as many things as I can so that there will be nothing significant to discover after the sale. Please review the supplied photos taken only about a week ago and the description below and make your judgement accordingly as to bid or not. If you have any questions PLEASE ask before bidding and I will try to answer them as quickly as possible. You may also call me directly to discuss the car at 614-517-3923 between 9 AM and 9 PM Eastern Time. Do not bid if you are not absolutely certain that you want the car. The car is being sold as-is, where is with no reserve as I need the money as fast as possible. I listed the car for sale locally for $5000. OBO and now need to let it go at whatever the market will bring. Once there is a bid on the car, I will not sell it through the classifieds. IT WILL SELL ABSOLUTE ON HERE ONCE THERE IS A VALID BID OFFERED. This Allante has a very nice body and shiny paint with only minor dings and imperfections and no apparent rust. I will call it a 10 footer because it looks great at that distance. When you are closely inspecting it, you can find places where it has been touched up with a brush and also where the paint is rubbed thin. The hood and front fender tops have been re-painted. It still is pretty darn sharp for a 20 year old car. The front turn signal lenses are cracked and have been glued. You can barely notice them under the bumper. It does not have a front license plate bracket. There is some oxidation or corrosion under the lip of the trunk lid. The hood and trunk are both aluminum and it is not rust but the paint is chipped away a bit and light corrosion is showing when looking underneath. No holes or deep corrosion, it just needs cleaned off and painted under and you can't tell from outside except a little bubbling under the pinstripe above the left tail light, a very small area. Some of the weather stripping should be replaced around the top and windows from age. It is very clean underneath the car except a typical oily cradle under the engine / transmission. Interior has some wear consistent with the age and mileage, some fading / discoloration on top of dash, some staining of the light colored carpet. It will come with a carpeted dash mat and a fitted car cover. The cigarette lighter is missing and the coin holder in the console won't hold coins. The glove box door is starting to separate near the latch and has been glued. The Digital Dash and all instruments work fine. The display does not show any trouble codes except for the low refrigerant message telling you that the AC compressor is off. It has good oil pressure, does not overheat and is charging properly. I have replaced the battery earlier this year. The Bose audio system works fine, is very loud and I know the CD player and radio both work fine but I have not tried the cassette player. I assume it is fine too. When I purchased it, I drove it from the Washington DC area to Columbus Ohio without any problems whatsoever. I bought it from a Ford dealer that had taken it in on trade for a new car. It came with a PA title and had a Florida dealer sticker on the trunk. I don't have any history about the car other than that. I am guessing it to be "snowbird" car. I am anxious to see the experian report post with the listing. I don't believe it has ever been wrecked. All the lights work, the power windows work (although the drivers door window switch is not the original), The power door locks need lubed up or repaired, but doors do lock with the key. Automatic Trunk closer and power antenna both work fine, sometimes you need to apply a little pressure on the trunk lid to engage the closer motor. The carpet on the bottom of the trunk is bad but I have a trunk mat over top of it. The Convertible top is in pretty good shape but is missing one small canvas corner trim piece pictured ($20 bucks). It does not have the "mini covers" for the hard boot cover and there are a few chips in the hard boot from operating the top. The top goes up and down easily if you understand the sequence of operation. It does also have an owners manual in the glovebox. I have also removed the drivers side top latch motor as it needs repaired (see pic). The top still latches down tight with just the one on the passenger side. The Left side latch motors are available on eBay for around $200. I never got around to it. It is and has been always stored inside a heated building since I have owned it. The Recaro leather seats are not split or torn but do show wear and the drivers seat adjusting motor clicks but is stuck. The drivers side plastic seat switch cover has a small piece broken and has a piece of tape over the area. The sun visor mirror cover on the drivers side has a broken hinge and the cover is held with velcro. This car is a convertible only and does not have the removable hard top although I understand that if you wanted to use one from another car, you can find one usually for under 1000 bucks. To answer a previous question, I warmed it up this morning and the heater and defroster both work fine. I also tooted the horn and turned on the wipers. Both also worked fine. The car has a gorgeous set of 16 inch Chrome Vogue wheels and Continental touring tires at about 80 percent tread. There is absolutely no pitting or curbing on the wheels. The locking center caps have the Gold Caddy crest and wreath. The brakes are fine with no pulling or pulsing and no ABS lights. The master cylinder has a GM sticker on it stating it was re-manufactured. The ride is firm and the steering is very responsive. It does not pull or drift on the freeway. The cruise control works fine. It does not rattle, smoke, tick, thump or act like it has 141,000 miles on it. It drives nice, but rides firm like a Corvette or a sports car. I averaged about 20 MPG on the trip from DC to here. Not bad !! I have described the car to the best of my ability and will answer all questions promptly thru eBay or you may call me at 614-517-3923 my name is Bob. You may come and personally inspect the car at my place in Johnstown, Ohio 43031 if you are local. I will take you for a drive and or you can bring your mechanic here.
