1988 SUZUKI SAMURAI 4X4 5 SPEED Owned it since 2002 with 109,000 miles when purchased. Previous owner had recently rebuilt transmission. At 110k I had the engine rebuilt ($700 plus). Now has only 113, 900 miles. New sport back top. Replaced the original carb with a new weber carb ($340). Brakes reworked July 2010 ($453.) Not driven since. Very good mechanically. Replaced the windscreen due to a rusted channel that holds the softtop. Replaced the Samurai seats with cloth Toyota Celica seats. As the pictures will show, she does have rust. The worst areas are the front fenders, the front floor boards and rocker panels (see photos). Front fenders can be purchased for approx $85 each. New metal could be welded or screwed into the frame. My mechanic said the frame was in good shape. There is some paint chipping and slight rust on the hood. Some rust on the rear quarter panels. I have attempted to show all flaws on the photos. The mechanicals mentioned previously are all in good shape. She is a good runner. The only problem is the rust. Whether you purchase to restore or use the mechanicals in another Sammi she should serve you well. She is sold "as is". Thank you for checking her out. Good Luck.
