This gives it good load capability. With the truck-based powertrain (and rear wheel drive set up), the Astro can pull 5,500 lb (2,500 kg) with proper tow equipment installed. Overall, this van is a great addition for a company. It has good cargo space, drives nice, handles well and can haul a good load (if a hitch is installed). It is ready to go to work. The Astro's maximum towing capacity is 5,000 pounds, and its maximum payload is 1,673 pounds. The latter brings its gross weight, the maximum weight of the van and all possible cargo, to 6,100 pounds. The van accelerates to 60 mph in 11.5 seconds, and it brakes from 60 mph to a stop in 148 feet. Overall it has good power without a high gas consumption. History of the vehicle Inspected - - - It is important to check the condition of the vehicle before you buy because there might be major and costly repairs/ maintenance due. Since most eBay buyers are not able to come and check out our vehicles for themselves before bidding, we have our vehicles inspected by a professional mechanic to check the condition. The mechanic inspects the engine condition and underneath the vehicle (suspension and brakes systems). We also do a computer scan to check the error codes. Computer scan shows no codes. This car has been inspected and over $500 of recommended maintenance has been done. Fresh oil change also, so it is ready to drive. Vehicle description This 1998 Chevy Astro Cargo Van has 154k, Auto Trans. Company maintained since new (most maintenance through dealerships). The rear has shelves and drawers for storage and we have a ladder rack for the roof which will go with the van (not shown in pictures). The side and 2 rear windows are covered with white vinyl stickers which makes it easy to apply a company logo or decal. The vinyl can also easily be removed if you want the windows open again. There is a crack on the passenger side of the windshield, we can have the windshield replaced for $145 if needed, but it is not in the line of sight. It seems like the AC needs a recharge also. There are a couple of slight rips in the driver's seat, as you can see in the photos. We did wash out the rear cargo area, but it could still use a good clean up. This is a work van, so please be reasonable on your expectations of the interior condition. It is in decent shape, but not as nice as a car would be. Runs good, handles great. (Most vehicles have minor things like I mentioned, the difference is most sellers don't mention them, but we want you to know what you are buying even if it lowers the price.) Please be fair about your expectations as it is a 1998 work van, not new. If you are concerned about every single small thing please come and take a look and take to a mechanic before you bid. If you are a genuine buyer who paid on time, when you come to pick up the vehicle and for any reason don't like it we will refund the full amount you paid. The buyer must pay the deposit within 24 hours (we accept paypal for the deposit only). As a state requirement, all MN residents will have the vehicle titled through the dealer (which means we will apply for the title on the buyer's behalf and will collect the sales tax, the same amount as if you were to go to the DMV and title the vehicle). For out of state buyers we will provide the title and a 31 day temporary permit so you can drive the vehicle home. Even though most dealers charge $100 or more for documentation fees, we only have a $30 fee. Pick up - If you prefer to pick up we can arrange airport pick up (from Fargo, ND- 60 miles from Fergus Falls). Also, we can work around your time even before/ after office hours. There is a Greyhound bus station at Fergus Falls and we can arrange pick up from there also. Shipping - Even though shipping is totally the buyer's responsibility, we do our best to help you. One time I got up at 1am to accommodate a shipper coming to pick up a vehicle for a buyer in order to get a better rate for a customer. I also know some shippers who go around the MN, WI, ND, SD, IL, IN, IA area every week so can usually get a good rate for those states. But ultimately the shipping is the buyer's responsibility. If paid in full, we can store it for a while until shipping/pick up is arranged. We have an account with uShip which is associated with eBay. We can get multiple shipping quotes for the winning bidder. You can also check online shipping companies to get a good deal on shipping. Vehicle shipping is not very cheap.
