NO RESERVE AUCTION, 1ST BID MAYBE THE WINNING BID. Don't let this once in a lifetime classic pass you by! This may be the last one you ever get a chance to own. Super clean classic car. Due to a death of a close friend we are selling this car for the family. It originally came from California 20 years ago. Our friend purchased it from an elderly gentleman who was the original owner. He stored it in his barn since it was new. Our friend, living in California, purchased the car shortly before moving to Florida. Once here he began restoring the car as he used it as a daily driver. He drove/retored the car over a 15 year period which included extensive restoration and a new Chevy 350 crate motor that was installed about 14 years ago. While replacing the engine, he also converted it from a "three on the tree" to a floor shift automatic with a B&M shifter. Unfortuantly, due to the decline of his health and eventual passing, the car has sat idle for the past five years. His family has now decided to allow the car to be passed on to someone who will love and care for it as much as our friend did. The car was removed from storage. We replaced the plugs, points, condensor, dist. cap, etc. We replaced the battery and cables, cleaned the fuel system and fired the car right up. The car has had about 300 miles put on it just to make sure everything is road worthy and it is ready to go. I wouldn't be afraid to drive the car to it's original home in California and back again. Since our friends health decline and passing the car has been in storage, during this time it has started to show a few rust spots along the lower rocker panels, a few spots in the bed and one small spot on the hood. Floor pans, frame and panels are all solid but bear in mind that this is a 42 year old classic, it is not a new car. Some restoration will be required because of it's age and neglect over the past 5 years. The carburetor has a flat spot during acceleration, noticable but does not hender the car in any way. The rear glass needs to be reset and sealed, there is a new trim ring to go around the glass once it has been reset by a glass company. The family was never able to find the keys to the car. The ignition lock has had the tumblers removed to allow the switch to be turned without a key. Nothing is broken, only removed to allow the car to be started and ran. If you have spent the time to read this than you know what this car is really worth and how rare they really are. The El Camino is an American Icon and values really climbing. Bidding opens at $5,000 and the reserve is set rediculously low. Now is the time, and may very well be the last time, you will ever get a chance to own one of these for this kind of money. Bid High and bid often, Somebody will win a real American Classic.
