Vehicle Detail
1980 Honda CBX with only 3131 original miles. I bought this bike from the original owner who purchased it in October of 1980. Ridden very little over the years and kept in a climate controlled garage this bike looks like it has been in a time capsule. It's in amazing condition. Never down. Not a flaw in the seat. Paint is like new. Chrome is beautiful. Starts, runs, and rides excellent. Sounds very cool with the 6 in 1 DG header. New battery, o'ring chain, and freshly rebuilt carburetors which have been jetted to match the exhaust. Before taking initial delivery of the bike, the original owner had the selling dealer chrome plate many of the engine covers, brackets, and misc. hardware. This was very tastefully done and makes the bike really stand out. He also had them install the DG header, rejet the carbs and install the early style 1979 150 mph speedometer. This was very common as nobody liked the 80 mph speedo. He did remove the turn signals. He kept the front signals but not the rears. The fronts are on the bike and work perfectly. The rear signals are available through a number of sources. All lights and electrical work as they should and the bike runs like a Honda (excellent). I have a clear Minnesota title in my name. I also made a photocopy of the original title from 1980 with my name in the buyer section to verify authenticity of the ownership record. Still have the original tool kit which has never been used and the Cycle World magazine with the original road test on the bike. Here's a chance to own a piece of motorcycling history in beautiful condition. Oh yea, did I mention that it's a blast to ride. Please, only bid if you are a serious buyer. I will help as much as I can on my end with shipping but the buyer is responsible for any and all shipping fees. You are welcome to come by and see the bike in St Paul Minnesota if you like. Please e-mail with any questions. I have set a very fair reserve. I also have many more pictures that I can e-mail to you on request. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
