Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1971 International Scout II. This Scout has a very solid body with minimal rust. I purchased it from a man in Raleigh, NC in January 2001. From there it was driven to Richmond, VA where it saw only very light city duty for about 6 months. It was then towed to Charlotte, NC where it sat in a garage for 10 years. One thing led to another and pretty soon I had the whole engine out trying to debug what turned out to be bad distributor bushings and poor clearance between the rocker arm and valve cover. I didn't have the skill or time to rebuild the truck myself, so I hired Old Iron Offroad out of Tennessee to put her back together and make her a daily driver once again. I had this truck professionally rebuilt with full intentions of keeping it for years to come however I've had two unforeseen life events take place in the midst of the rebuild which have changed my financial circumstances and eventually my geographical location. We did everything the right way and parts are still relatively easy to find. She runs smooth and drives good. It has been shaken down and broken in with 3 oil changes already (Rotella T). It can go long distances too as it was driven from Crossville, TN to Charlotte, NC; 300 miles over the Smoky Mountains averaging 65mph. On Jun-11-11 at 17:32:27 PDT, seller added the following information:Just a reminder, please send me any questions you have before bidding. Remember that this Scout has all new major components: 1. 100% rebuilt axles front and rear. 2. 700 miles on 4 quality Cooper ATR tires. 3. New electrical wiring throughout. 4. Newly sanded and painted 1980 hardtop. 5. 700 miles on rebuilt 304 V-8. 6. Super solid body which is rare for a Scout in this part of the country. I think this truck will serve someone happily for years to come, thanks for looking and good luck to the bidders. Nick.
