Recent service (Spring 2011): Oil/filter change using Castrol Synthetic. Spark plugs replaced. Brake fluid replaced (lines bled). Air filter cleaned/oiled. Hand waxed. We've only used regular gas, NOT ETHANOL.This truck is awesome. Engine, transmission, 4WD, electrical — all mechanically sound. It runs and drives fantastic. It’s tight, it idles quietly and smoothly, shifts smoothly, accelerates and brakes smoothly. There are no leaks. You can drive this truck home, cross-country, with no worries.Is the truck flawless? No. It’s 20 years old. It looks/runs/drives better than the majority of like vehicles, but my photos can't hide the normal wear/tear of a 20 year old truck. You won't see shiny black lacquer sprayed on the underside of this truck like many dealers do to "freshen up" their vehicles. There's nothing to hide. The original windshield is pitted and has 3 small chip repairs (no big cracks). The cup holder in the dash does not function as it should. The turn signal lever needs to be manually disengaged when making a right turn (or is it left?). The outside edge of the driver's seat has a tear in the vinyl. There are 2 dents in the roof and 1 in the hood. Photos show all instances of surface rust on wheels and bumpers. We fought hard to prevent rust from creeping onto our truck. Its first Iowa winter was met with an unlimited car wash package, with weekly, sometimes daily trips. Its second Iowa winter was spent safely stored in the garage while we drove our other, not-so-precious car.
