Vehicle Detail

1961 Cadillac coupe in its correct Fontana Rose with Rose interior color combination. Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power windows, power seat. I purchased the car nine years ago from the son of the previous owner. Body: I was told it was originally from Arizona, and it shows due to its very solid body. The only rust through on the car is on the inner passenger side rocker panel and is only visible from the underside of the car. The body, quarters, fenders, doors, floors, trunk and frame are extremely solid. Check out the pictures of the underside of the doors. The car has an older driver quality repaint in its correct Fontana Rose color that is a presentable 20 footer, but is certainly showing its age. The rubber weather stripping around the windows are dried out and are cracked in places. Glass is very good. Vent windows have some areas of delamination. Has typical rust on the lower window channels in the door glass on both sides (new uninstalled reproductions are included for both sides). The chrome and trim is good driver quality. Interior: Consistent with a presentable driver. Door panels are original and in good condition. Seats have been recovered. Dash pad has some cracks. Carpets are in nice shape, but are incorrect (a correct new carpet set with pad is included for the interior). Trunk area is also carpeted in the incorrect material as seen in photos. Headliner and sun visors are done in an incorrect maroon velvet. Wonderbar and power antenna work good. Speedometer works, but odometer doesn't. Windshield wipers just stopped working this year. Dome light doesn't work (Bulb?) Power seat motors work and seat goes up and down, but not front to back. Power rear quarter windows work slowly due to lack of use. Mechanical: In the last two years the car has had many thousands in mechanical work including: Complete motor rebuild, carb rebuild, complete suspension rebuild (including new coil springs all around), master cylinder rebuild, power brake booster rebuild, generator rebuild, new rubber brake hoses, and a complete new correct exhaust system. There is an exhaust manifold leak or "tick" on the passenger side and an oil leak that drips when the car is running. Car is "cold blooded" when starting, but once up to temperature runs and idles well. Transmission shifts smooth through the forward gears. Occasionally reverse will make a low "binding" sound. It is not all the time, and it has always gone in reverse even when making the sound. Car runs and drives good and I have taken it on numerous 150+ mile trips with no issues. This classic 50 year old Cadillac needs some tinkering on the issues I have mentioned within this description, but overall this is a very reliable driver with a super solid body that you can just get in and enjoy as I have been doing. I have done my best to give an accurate description of this vehicle and I encourage you to call me and set up a time for you or a representative to view this car or ask any questions. There is no substitute for you seeing the car in person. Thanks, Troy 978-265-4954. Car is sold AS IS, Where is, and buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements. This car is available for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. All funds must clear before the vehicle will be available for pick up. The car is currently registered and on the road. Maine does not issue titles on older vehicles, but I do have a Massachusetts title signed over to me by the previous owner . On Jun-06-11 at 18:08:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Mileage shows 32193, but odometer does not work, so I do not know accurate mileage. On Jun-11-11 at 11:21:09 PDT, seller added the following information: While cleaning out glove box today in anticipation of the sale of this car, the nub broke off the end of the latch (great timing). It will need a new glove box latch. I checked e-bay. They are available for $35-$50. Thanks
