1972 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE HISTORY Since the Mustang had undergone a major restyling in 1971, the 1972 Mustang models saw no big styling changes, only minor cosmetic ones. Probably due to increasing governmental fuel economy regulations, all of the Boss cars were dropped from the 1972 lineup. The Boss 351 and both versions of the 429 engine were dropped. The only "performance" model that remained for the entire '72 model year was the Mustang Mach 1. The Mach 1, like all other '72 models, were virtually unchanged. The 72 mustang featured in this auction sold new at Arrow Motors in Abilene Texas. It remained in Abilene as a one owner car until 2007 when it was purchased at an estate sale by a friend in Bloomington, Indiana. There is considerable documentation including a copy of the original Texas title. It currently has an Indiana title in my friends name showing the miles as actual. The current mileage is 50,403 CONDITION This Convertible is a beautiful Rust free example from a dry climate. It sports a 302 V8 with a 2 barrel carburetor, backed by an automatic transmission. The car runs and drives very nicely. There is a low cylinder in the engine and a corresponding miss at idle. The car is also equipped with Power steering and Factory Air Conditioning that is not cold and a Power top that works great. There is a new battery and tires, a new brake master cylinder and water pump. The car was repainted at some point in the original color. There is a touched up scratch near the drivers door handle depicted in one of the photos. The car shows well and has a beautiful original white interior and top. DETAILS This is a presentable 1972 Mustang Convertible in beautiful original condition with many original features that you can drive to Cruise Ins and shows right now. You can get into the Collector car hobby with a turnkey car. I believe that this Mustang can be driven to any destination. It is freshly serviced and ready to go.
