1976 BMW 2002. - This is a California car and is probably one of the most rust free examples you will find. - Car has a clear California title in my name(Registration good through December 2011) - Mechanically the car is all original except for a 32/36 Weber Carb. - Nice upgrades include BMW cross spoke wheels and BMW recaro style seats(the seats are really comfortable and in nice condition) - Newer Yokohama tires including the spare - The car just passed CA smog in February which is a sign the engine is in good shape. - The car runs good but not perfect. It could most likely use a tune up/valve adjustment. - Steering is tight and feels like it should. - there is no grinding with shifts up or down. The car is a 4 speed. - Most of the electrical works including the fasten seat belt warning. Head lights, high beams, tail lights, dash lights all work. Left front and right rear turn signals work as well as one back up light and one brake light. I have not diagnosed why the other lights are not working. - The brakes work as you would expect. The brakes will stop the car quickly and there is no pulling with hard braking. - There are no signs of accident history on vehicle. With that being said, car has been repainted at some point and overall looks pretty good. It is definitely a 20 footer. I have tried to take pictures of the obvious blemishes which include some minor dents and chips. - There is a stereo. The AM/FM channels work but the digital channel screen does not work and the CD player does not work. - The car is equiped with AC. The fan works and blows air but not cold. It appears all the parts are there. - dash has a few cracks but overall still looks nice. - The odometer does not work but all the other gauges do. If you are looking for a better than average, rust free 2002 that you can drive and enjoy now and then take your time to tinker with and restore along the way then this might just be the car for you. I tried my best to give an accurate description and photos. The car is 35 years old and is definitely far from perfect so I'm sure I have forgotten to list things good and bad.
