Vehicle Detail

1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser station wagon. A beautiful, clean, no-rust car from Arizona! The body is totally rust-free - as you would expect a car to be from dry Arizona. There are some shallow dents in the tailgate - and a small protruding dent on the right rear lower quarter that came from inside in the spare tire area. These can be seen in the photos. The frame and undersides are very solid too. There is some minor surface rust on some areas underneath - but its much nicer than a typical Wisconsin-climate 1988 car would be. The paint is original and in very nice condition. It has a glossy shine that makes the car look great! There are some minor flaws, chips, and scrapes, in various areas - but overall the paint is in very nice condition. All the chrome trim, bright metal, and aluminum luggage rack are in excellent beautiful condition - making the car look very nice. The interior is very clean and in nice condition, overall. It was never smoked in. The only issues are some stains in the cargo area - which I never tried to remove. And the original headliner is beginning to sag in various areas - a common problem in all GM cars from the 80's. Starts, idles, runs, drives, and stops very well, like a 1988 Oldsmobile should. V8 307 5.0 liter Olds engine with 4 barrel carb. The automatic overdrive transmission fluid is clean and red. There are no major leaks anywhere. Exhaust is solid and quiet. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere. The car need nothing - its ready to go anywhere. Fully loaded with everything! It even has the unusual rare options - like power adjustable side mirrors; factory gauges for oil pressure, temperature, and battery voltage; fiber optic indicators for all the exterior lights; and 6-way power seats for both driver and passenger. Everything works properly. The air conditioning has been converted to R-134a, and it works too. (5-29-11 - I changed my mistake - the AC is R-134a ... not R12.) The 2nd and 3rd rear seats independently fold down flat to make the cargo area big enough to hold 4'x8' sheets of plywood. And there's under-floor storage and side compartment storage too. The tires are in excellent condition with very deep tread. I added the Olds Cutlass Rally wheels - using adapters - as these wheels were never made for the Custom Cruiser wagons. I have the original wire wheel covers if you prefer to have the car put back to the original factory look - as shown in one of the photos. My cell numbers are: 414-364-1220 or 414-852-5856. (Please don't leave a message - I don't look for messages or know how to retrieve them.) If one phone doesn't work - try the other number. I only have one phone on at a time, depending if I'm at work or not. Call between 7 am and 1030 pm, 7 days a week, (Milwaukee time). -------------------------- I require a $200 deposit within two days (48 hours) of the auction close - PayPal is ok for this. The balance is due by cash - or if a check is used I will require at least 1 week, maybe longer, for the check to fully clear before I can release the car to the new owner. I will work with the buyer if a few extra weeks are needed before the car can be picked up. Arranging and paying for shipping, licensing, taxes, etc are the buyer's responsibility. I will cooperate with your designated shipper to the best of my ability. If you would like to fly in and drive the Custom Cruiser home - I can pick you up at the nearby Milwaukee Mitchel airport, Greyhound, or Amtrak stations. You are welcome to come and inspect the car before bidding or have a representative do so. I have described this car to the best of my ability. Please remember that this is a 1988 vehicle, and while it is in exceptional excellent shape, it is 23 years old and therefore is not a brand new flawless car. Sold as-is, and does not come with a warranty of any kind.
