As I combed the hills surrounding my city for cars and garage sales, and bicycles, and motorcycles, and scooters, I found this red mustang convertible under many tarps in a car port on the mountain side. .. An aging playboy had socked this car away for years. 30 years to be exact. When he had me in his residence we sat by the mantle and drank snifters of vodka. The mantle was dotted with pictures of beautiful ladies, plaques of achievements, and also antique guns hung above the fireplace. He was asking a pretty penny and I had brought a stack of Benjamins. After much discussion of women, beer, sports, and protocol a deal was struck. This red mustang used to be white. It looks resplendent in red. The condition of this car is freakin’ great, mechanically that is. The man had produced a receipt from the most prestigious mustang restoration shop and presented it to me as a valuable document. The engine, transmission, and suspension had a complete top to bottom, front to back, no expense spared, factory original rebuild. The shop that built this car could probably do it with their eyes closed. They are that good. The last restored mustang I just sold was also built at this shop. The exterior of the car will need to be painted. The interior of the car will need to be re-upholstered. The top is present with material and glass rear window, and I will add that photo shortly. The power top pump comes on, but needs fluid or TLC. The front seat on the driver’s side is broken in two and comes in the trunk. The man had been hit lightly on the hood and was so generous he let the person who hit him get away with just painting the hood. This is not a rusty car. This car has been owned by one person for 30 years and that person mechanically rebuilt the car from the ground up. It drives very nicely and has only had 200 miles on this mechanical rebuild. The first day I got it, I climbed up and down the hills on an unseasonably warm night. The car gets all the compliments you can handle and please don’t let it get away from you.
