This auction is for a documented, numbers matching, one owner 1969 Pontiac GTO survivor. This car was purchased new on October 28, 1968 at Odonnell Pontiac, in Balto Md. It comes with the original purchase invoice and title showing zero miles. The original motor is a Pontiac 400 V-8, 350 rated H.P. It starts right up and runs well. It has power steering and manual brakes. The automatic transmission has a floor mounted "his and hers" shifter. The options listed on the purchase invoice include: Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, console, power steering, air conditioning, tinted windsheild, dash clock, cordova top, remote mirror and underbody coating. The odometer on this car shows 45,603 miles. The service records included seem to support this, but I cannot absolutely verify this as correct. Although this classic automobile runs and drives and isn't far from roadworthy, it definitely needs to be restored. The biggest issue with this car is the poor quality body and paint work that was previously done to it. The floor and trunk pans are excellent, due to being coated when new. The doors are solid. All the glass is good, along with most of the exterior trim. (most of which is in the trunk.) The rear bumper chrome is nice. The quarter panels are pretty rough. The trunk lid is rotten and will need to be replaced. The interior is complete and not bad for it's age. There are some seams splitting on the seats, but it's all there. The console and headliner are nice... I've tried to show the defects clearly. Please look at the photos, and feel free to ask questions. This is a classic American musclecar and is rare and valuable enough to be worthy of restoration.
