Vehicle Detail
Here is your chance to get into a unique two seat sport roadster and not go broke doing it! This is a 2009 Pontiac Solstice convertible. This car has a 2.4L ecotec 4 cylinder engine mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission and a limited slip differential. Options included in this car are air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control and polished aluminum wheels. Standard features include traction control, antilock brakes, AM/FM/XM MP3/WMA stereo with aux port and OnStar. The balance of the manufacturers warranty applies. This car was bought from the dealership on December 31st, 2009 just before midnight, and is one of, if not the last, Solstice sold new under the Pontiac marque. This car is garage kept and is not my daily driver, thus the relatively low milage. This car was rarely driven in the winter, but it was not "cold stored" and was taken out occasionally during the cold and flu season! Though this car is catagorically a "sports car", it does handle admirably in heavy rain and better then expected in the snow (so long as you keep traction control on!). The performance with the 2.4l engine is remarkable on account of the lightness of the car, and rumor has it this car will out corner many more expensive sports cars, though I have never pushed this car anywhere near it's limits to prove/disprove that theory. There are a couple of imperfections to mention. There is a scuff on the passenger rear wheel, right at the edge, where it appears a curb was brushed during a parallel parking attempt. There is an artifact in the paint on the rear deck lid on the passenger side, right near where the top clips into the deck lid. This artifact mesures a touch under 1/8 inch across and appears to be in the base coat and under the clear coat. There is also a compromised seal in the passenger side tail light which can allow water into the housing if exposed to high volume or high pressure water. This seal was bad from the factory but oddly the dealership I was dealing with refused to repair it. There is no apparent damage to the housing itself. Since I had just washed the car, the photo of it shows what can happen. The water in the lens housing dissipated after a couple of hours in the sun. There are photographs of all three imperfections included in this listing. I have had an absolute blast with this car. It is a head turner and you WILL get comments! I must part with her due to the impending purchase of an airplane. The note on this car is held by BCU Credit Union of Vernon Hills. BCU has branches in several states so if you are considering financing the car you may wish to consider BCU if it's an option as it will make the transaction that much easier! If you're looking for a sporty, sexy roadster that performs like that of cars twice the price, you don't want to miss out on this gem! Happy to answer any questions you might have!
