Vehicle Detail

I am offering for sale one of my pride and joys, a 1966 panel van. I have owned this panel for about 8 years and have rebuilt almost every inch. The body was stripped to metal and any and all rust was repaired with replacement panels from Heritage parts. This was done by a professional body shop with my assistance and supervision. You will not find a cleaner body in a van anywhere. The van has been in the states for almost all its life, starting in southern California until my purchase. During the body restoration all the sub frames and all other parts have been blasted and powder coated. All the suspension bushings have been replaced with polyurethane, all brake lines replaced and rebuilt with new shoes and cylinder kits and hoses. New shocks all four corners. The fuel tank was boiled and coated, new fuel lines installed. I have rebuilt all the electrical and everything works properly. New lights and lamps installed. The front fenders, hood, grill, grill panel and new doors installed. The 850 motor is stock with a recent rebuild by the previous owner. I have all the receipts from that work and it runs well. The van has an electric fuel pump installed for easier starting and has dual SU carburetors. The gearbox work properly and is a wand shift. A new clutch assembly was installed and both axles have new joints. I installed a new steering rack as well. The seats shown in the picture are from a new Mini but did not fit well so I bought and installed a new set of Corbeau Classic buckets and new seat rails. The originals are in need of kits and will go with the purchase. All new carpets are installed in front and the rear cargo area. The wheels are Cosmic and the tires are in good condition. Most of the hardware was replaced during the restoration as well. Most all the parts had been purchased from 7 Enterprises and were factory original replacement parts. I have invested a much larger amount in the van than I will receive from this sale, but this is my hobby and enjoyment of restoration. My loss is your gain. The exhaust is all new and was built from stainless steel and 1 3/4" bore with a nice little turbo muffler which is also stainless steel. The front center panel is not the original panel design and I updated it to the MK III with a nice chrome grill. This was done for a better look and it also allows better access to the distributor and oil filter. I also installed new carpets in the front and bought the factory carpet for the cargo area. The paint is a clear coat, base coat and the color is an Aston Martin dark metallic blue color. I have many spare parts and the original seats that would require new kits. I took picture from the date of purchase to the finish, about 200 images in all, so you can see everything that was done. The body was soda blasted to bare metal and then acid washed to kill any trace of rust. Then an epoxy primer applied. When doing the suspension and sub frames I also upgraded the parts with gas shocks and heavy duty adjustable links. I have taken this to a few shows and won the class with ease and have driven it in a couple parades. Other than that it has been resting in my shop. This is the third panel I have owned and I had always wanted a near rust free unit and until I found this the others were not good examples. This is a great van and will make a nice purchase for anyone looking for one. I have photos of every process that I can provide on request. If you have something to trade let me know as I am always open to any idea. Restoration is my passion and not a business. Thanks for looking and give a shout if you need further information. Reason for sale you might ask?? I have too many projects to finish and need room to work.
