Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1967 Barracuda Convertible. I've had the car now for about 8 years or so, and its time to let her go. Its been a great ride, but I just don't have the time to get her out and run her like I should, so I'm going to let everyone have a shot at owning her.First off, I saved her from some guy who couldn't take care of her in Connecticut. I answered the add thinking the worst, as the Northeast was usually tough on these cars. Luckily, the car was maintained over the years, the floors were solid (except for a small hole where it looked like the heater core leaked) and needed only one patch panel. The bottom of the car was saved due to the fact that the car might have had a bad oil leak at one time before the engine was rebuilt (it doesn't leak at all since the rebuild) and the bottom had a layer of sludge over the factory undercoating. The bottom of the car was great for a Northeast car. So we did a restification of the car. I drove it sparingly over the last few years, as I just didn't have the time. Now its time to let someone else drive her. This car is a 273 car automatic on the column car. I believe the whole car to be original, though I didn't check the motor numbers. The engine was rebuilt before I bought it and runs great . Here are the specs. Here are the vitals from the vin B Line Plymouth Barracuda H Class High 27 Body Convertible D Engine 273 2bbl 7 Year 1967 2 Assembly Hammatrack Engine - 273 Automatic, rebuilt, shift on the column, Runs great. Car shifts well, no issue. Dual exhaust which might be stainless, not sure with aftermarket tips. It looks like original air cleaner, the washers and horn are not hooked up, horns are there. Radiator was re-cored to what I believe is a 4 core. Runs cool. No other engine mods as I know. Once had electronic ignition which was removed... still has the plug on the wiring harness. Wipers work. Battery weak, should be replaced. Engine bay looks pretty good. The 904 trans is excellent, but make sure that the needle is all the way over in park when stopped and idling! Carb was rebuilt about 1000 miles ago. Body and paint - car was painted in 2005 its original GG-1 Dark Green Metallic paint. Since then there has been numerous touch ups. Car is definitely a 10 footer, as there are scratches, hazy spots and blotchy paint spots, but overall the paint still shines. There are several places where I've had bubles pop up (see photos). Worst spot is directly behind the door on each side. Also each door has spots that I've tried to tame, can catch it now, as its not too late. Fenders and quarters look totally free from any issues, as with the hood. Trunk lid has a little on the inside. The trunk is clean as are the floors. THIS CAR WAS FACTORY UNDERCOATED and it was put on heavy. Wheel wells look good as with the underside of the car. The salt air here has put a light coating of rust on some of the suspension parts. The doors need adjusting. There are no dents as I can see on the car at all. Suspension, tires and brakes- there were new shocks put on 4 years ago out back and up front, only about 1000 miles has been put on the car since then. Original front end and leaf springs. car has a great stance to it. The front end definitely needs a rebuild and I would do that for starts, though the car still rides nice. The car came with the HEAVY DUTY DRUM brake package all around. The brakes were all gone through and rebuilt 4 years ago, so they have about 1000 miles on them. But the have stiffened up because of lack of use over the last two years. You should definitely have them checked before driving. the wheels are the basic steel wheels, which I painted black, and drove like that for a while (always loved the 69 Road Runner look). Now I have a set of the rare rally hubcaps on them, and they look great...even though they are Dodge issue. The front tires have some dry cracking, but still holding well. The back tires are in good shape. Interior - is in excellent shape. Seats were redone 6 years ago and there are no rips. Carpet looks good, dash and pad are clean and I made a cd console that sits on the hump. I've never hooked it up. I have wires running underneath the carpet and I have a pair of speakers that are included that would sit on the back seats for music. Door panels are repops. The original radio is not hooked up. Antennae is a little loose, dont have the tool to tighten. The speedo makes a clicking noise when you drive for some reason. Gas gauge is not accurate.Blinkers and lights work. Glass - All the glass is there. There are some scratches in the side glass. The windshield is BRAND NEW and was replaced last October using a brand new gasket. The convertible window is GLASS, not plastic! Trim - All the pieces look original. Some scratching and dulling. Some pits in the pass door handle (I've included a better one) and in taillights. Mirrors are clean, but will need a rechrome to be perfect. Rear bumper needs chrome, was specially painted with special chrome paint which doesn't look like chrome. Its a good core to rechrome. From bumper is better, with a little haze in the chrome and some small pits. Some of the weatherstripping needs replacement. Grill has some dings. Emblems are all there, one Barracuda emblem is cracked and front Plymouth Letters are loose. the hood inserts were replaced with '68 inserts because I like the look much better. I still have the original ones. Both sets will need refurbishment. Top - was replaced just before I bought the car . Small dime sized slit in the side which just happened. I touched it up from the inside. Seam top was reglued. Top looks great overall and top motor works flawlessly. This would be a great car to drive the rest of the summer and then take down in the winter for a light project. Its not a $25k show car, but its a lot better than cars I've seen on ebay go for $6k... and I've seen some pretty trashy ones. This car is complete, driving, very original as far as I can tell, and pretty rare these days. Love to see it go to someone who can take car of it. I'll miss it, but it should really go to someone who can drive it. I've set a reserve to protect my investment. I did have the build sheet, which was under the rear seat when I bought it ...untouched. I will try to locate it. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer to set up and pay. $500 deposit due 48 hours after auction end. Payment by certified check or cash. Car can be shipped, but must be set up and paid for by the buyer. NO SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE USA. The original hood spears are also going with the car, and need restoration. Also, its been brought to my attantion because people have asked. I've driven this car up to 200 miles in one trip, but since it has not been driven much in the last two years, and the cracking in the front left tire, that the car should be towed or trailered to its new destination! thanks, and good luck bidding! The rear quarters are totally bondo free... one complete quarter was replaced years ago on the passenger side due to a dent, and a patch was put on the drivers. So both lower quarters have no bondo. The drivers fender had a lower patch put on, and the passenger fender was totally clean when stripped.
