Welcome to my auction for a 1986 VW Syncro Transporter. Diesel 4 cylinder coupled to a five speed manual transmission. Built in Graz, Austria according to the VIN. Bodywork is in good shape with a black respray over what was a bright Green original. NO RUST Tires are all good inc spare. All electrics work. Utility battery behind drivers seat, main battery behind passenger seat. Bed in roof, with a rooflight which has a sunblind. You can lie in bed at night and watch the stars! There is a propane(?) tank under the passenger side (see pic). THE TV IS NOT INCLUDED. The reserve is set at a mere $2000.00 The VIN details this van as a diesel Syncro. It is a 1986 model, but ebay database does not have this VIN, so to list it, I had to opt for 1980 to get it to accept the listing. I bought this VW from Poland last November when it was covered in several feet of snow. My agent confirmed that it was a Syncro as he saw the dash instrument which showed which drive configuration was being used. What he didn't check was that the drive shafts and front transmission were physically in place. It was in UK and out of the snow, when we first discovered that it wasn't complete. However it ran, drove and stopped so I brought it to Louisiana. When it started puking oil from the crankshaft end of the motor I had had enough and decided that, although I really wanted a 4WD VW Vanagon Camper, I would make do with a Land Rover instead. So here is is. Sold as is but all it really needs is a Syncro transplant. All the Syncro wiring connectors are in place. It has a clear USA title and will start and run enough to drive onto a trailer. Thanks for looking, good luck and happy bidding on this rare bit of kit.
