You are looking at a 1992 Jeep Laredo that is perfectly capable of passing inspection and being used on the road again if you want to invest the time to do the some body work, and tidy up the exhaust. This vehicle was on the road last year until it came to inspection time. It failed on the bodywork and just passed exhaust noise level. Basically attention is needed to the bottom of all doors, (I do believe that you can find stick on covers to replace the plastic trim that used to be on the bottom of the doors) a small section of the floor, some small holes in the fenders and rear bumper area, and the exhaust seems to sound a little louder than it did after sitting this winter. As you can see it has perfect rocker panels and the frame is in fantastic condition, as are the wheel well areas. The only other problem that has developed with this vehicle since then is that every time it rains I can’t get it to start. I have taken the dashboard apart to see if it is a windshield leak, but it isn’t that, the dashboard and all wires are perfectly dry. I have since put the dashboard back and can only think that this problem has something to do with the alarm circuitry getting damp. AIl that I am able to tell you is that when it is a rainy day, and I turn the key to the first position, I can’t hear the fuel pump energize, but at the next turn the engine will still turn over. The door locks go crazy too. They lock and unlock all on their own even with the key out of the ignition. On a dry day you wouldn’t know what I was talking about as it starts perfectly. It started perfectly, ten out of ten times during the last ten dry days, but today on the eleventh day, before I started listing this, I tried it, and sure enough it’s raining enough to build an ark, and you guessed it, it will only turnover and over but not ignite due to lack of the fuel pump activation. If anybody knows what this is … have at it. I just don’t have the time for the learning curve anymore. One theory I have heard is that the problem may indeed be in the sensitive alarm system due to the limited life expectancy of the circuitry and the harsh climatic conditions imposed on the circuitry over the years, versus the extraordinary long life of the actual vehicle itself which is built to handle all kinds of conditions from 100% humidity to below zero conditions. Unlike the tough physical components of the Jeep, the sensitive electronic components cannot handle the same such live span and excessive moisture can create a short in the system. Anyway that’s about it, good frame, good glass, great motor, runs and drives, (weather pending) good transmission, nice smooth and silent 4x4, good brakes, reasonable tires, all electric components work as they should, lights, brakes, directional’s, backup lamps, dome and even the radio, all work fine. As I stated, its not dead yet, it can still see another 100,000 miles with the right person, it just needs some time and attention that I am not able to give it as I have six other vehicles that also are starting to need attention (or new owners.) You never know you may see some more here over the next few weeks! I will not be selling various parts off of this vehicle. This vehicle is being sold as a complete vehicle for parts and will be complete when the next owner picks it up, as they may just want to do the things needed to pass inspection, and to rob parts off it would be unfair, so please don’t ask me to parts pieces off it. It is a 1994, same engine, same color, same model, and if the right person was interested in that vehicle also - and this as a parts vehicle for the other one - you would be all set. Keep an eye out for it as that one is coming right up. The only thing different between the two is the transmission and the interior color, it's tan. The other jeep has the four speed which is very desirable for off road, this one has the automatic but it has the High output motor. Please see the last picture in this listing and the other auction. If you look closely at the last picture in each you will see the same license plate numbers in each auction so you will be able to cross reference and confirm for yourself. This vehicle is being sold for parts as it doesn't pass inspection at the moment and may or may not start depending on the weather. That being said, it should be noted that this vehicle will need to be picked up. It is not registered or inspected and will require being towed or flat bedded from here at the new owners expense. I will not and cannot deliver this vehicle. Please take this into consideration when deciding to bid.
