Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 2 Door hardtop coupe. The car has 64,160 original miles. This car has a 350 cu.in. Pontiac V8. Automatic Transmission. The undercarriage including the frame rails in the rear, trunk floor, subframe in the front, wheel wells, and rocker panels are all solid. The only spot that is bad is a small spot under the driver's seat on the floor. As far as other holes and surface rust, the pictures show the extent of that. We replaced the master cylinder, all the brake lines (including the ones to the rear and rear axle), new rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes are in good shape, the brakes are solid with good pedal. Other new parts include: 3 core aluminum radiator, water pump, front seal, plugs, rotor, dist. cap w/points and master cylinder. This vehicle runs great and starts right up. Two new quarter panels (not installed) are included. Seat covers and door panels are in good shape but in need of a good cleaning. Needs new carpeting and headliner. Dash pad is in excellent shape. Tires are in excellent shape with no weather checks. The pictures show the vehicle the way I took it out of the barn except for the new parts installed as shown in pictures. I removed the console because the neutral safety switch was bad. Overall, this vehicle is a perfect piece for a easy restoration. I planned to restore it myself, but because of health reasons, I'm no longer feeling up to the challenge. This vehicle was stored in a barn since 1984. If you pay actual gas costs and other associated expenses, I'll deliver the car up to 120 miles, give or take a few miles. Otherwise, the winning bidder will be responsible for picking up the car or arranging shipment if necessary.
