1987 Volvo 240 Wagon Up for auction at NO RESERVE is my 1987 Volvo 240 Wagon. I am selling due to an upcoming move and I no longer have space for my toys, so the Volvo and a few other items must go to a new home. Included in the sale are the original manuals and a stack of receipts. This is a Volvo wagon in fair to average condition for it's age (24 year old). I have been using her as a commuter vehicle (300 miles a week), and did drive it on a 1,200 mile trip in the past two months. She starts up and does not smoke at all. Can be a bit "cold blooded" when warming up in the morning. Some items that have been recently replaced include: battery, tie rod ends, ball joints, steering rack boots, air filter, plugs, wires, cap and ign. rotor, fuel filter, flame trap (IPD relocation kit) and water pump. Although the tie rod ends and ball joints have been replaced, it still rides like a 24 year old 240, with some squeeks, creaks and rattles. I will include in the auction a set of front bushings from IPD. The washer fluid bottle is cracked, so that will need replacing. The rear hatch wiring suffers from the cracked wire syndrome in the hinges. Included in the auction will be the IPD replacement wires to correct this (they will need to be installed). In addition, I will include my Chilton manual for the car. I would recommend a rotate/balance of the tires, resurface of the brakes, and alignment (pulls slightly left). Muffler and catalytic converter are relatively new and in very good shape. As you can see, I have completed a lot of the preventative maintenance and general wear items. The interior is in fair shape. The rear cargo panels are a little worn. The driver seat needs a cover (one is included, see pic), as it is cracked/torn, which is typical. The rear seat has a few small tears at the top. There are some cracked plastic pieces (center console between the seats) and some missing pieces (third brake light cover, door pockets). All this stuff is available on Ebay. The drivers side door key is unique (different from the other locks). This is prior to my ownership, so I don't know why. The auto lock mechanism on the front passenger door does not operate like the others (so you have to manually pull it up). The glove box cover has been replaced. Comes with the all -weather type mats. The stereo is an aftermarket Kenwood. It is mediocre. The original head unit is included. The exterior is in fair condition. It does have some nicks, dings, and some surface rust on the inside door seams and at the interior of one of the side windows (previous weep near gasket) caused some oxidation. I have resealed this area. There are some small indentations on the roof (I believe from a roof rack prior to my ownership). The hood has a two or three small dings as well. These would not show in the pictures. I have tried to the best of my ability to accurately describe my Volvo. Due to the age of my Volvo, I am having to sell her in as-is condition, no warranties expressed of implied. Please review the pictures and feel free to ask questions. This is a NO RESERVE auction.
