Vehicle Detail

1969 Volkswagen Campmobile Up for auction at NO RESERVE is my 1969 Volkswagen Campmobile. I am only selling because I need to move now, and am losing my garage space/storage. I had purchased this campmobile with the intent on fixing it up over time. Unfortunately, I no longer have time or space. Included with this bus is a stack of receipts (dating back to the 70's) and the original campmobile brochure and owners manual. The bus is a driveable/functional unit. I would rate it at fair to average condition for the age (42 years old) It has good tires all the way around (see pics). The motor is fine, no smoking, starts right up. Like all air cooled vw's, it does weep a very slight amount. The odometer shows just over 96,000 miles, true mileage is unknown. The brakes work fine (as good as an old bus's brakes work). Has a new battery. The carburator needs to be rebuilt, as it does struggle to idle without feathering the throttle/pedal. The interior has some wear. The passenger seat is torn and needs some batting and a cover. The radio is not in the dash (good news though, the dash is uncut). The interior panels are fair. The drivers side door is missing the guts for the roll up window (the glass is there). The top is complete, does have some small tears/wear. The cot is in good shape (a little faded). There is also the front cot included. The rear bug screen is present, but has a few holes from age. Spare tire is present. Cabinets are in fair condition. Its a good interior if you have little kids and don't want to freak out every time they're jumping around in there. The exterior is in fair condition. It has some rust around the front windshield, the rain channels, the dog legs, roof penetrations and a little bubbling in the doors. The bumpers have some dents/pitting. The paint is a respray job. There are areas of overspray. It does have a few dents (see driver side and front pics) The underside is solid, only minor surface (see pic). This is a cool bus that needs a little love, as you go. It's a good bus for those that don't have $14k to buy a totally restored bus (I don't). It still gets a lot of looks going down the road, thumbs up, and stories from others walking up. I have tried to describe this bus as best as possible. Because this is a 42 year old bus, this is a no warranties expressed or implied vehicle. It is being sold as-is. Please look at all the pictures and ask questions. This is a NO reserve auction, the high bidder will enjoy this bus.
